You guys are truly a gem within the E39 community. Keep em coming! Personally I'd love some more vids of suspension component replacements.
Thank you! The problem with videos is that they slow the job time down considerably to explain everything. And with as busy as we are (or always), time is money. With that said, I'll do my best to get some more suspension related content up soon.
what a treasure trove! not a rotted jack point in sight!
He’s in San Diego 😅
You are very blessed to have so many iconic bm's in your arson. My dream beemers are the M5 and and 540I and the 850I. Best vehicles ever build
Lol , I have those t exact models. All in getrag 6 speed manual
@@ianmcwilliam1753 awesome. Best choises made right there👍🏼
Thanks Neville… I bought the 540i/6 ten years ago. Loved it so much I bought the m5 5 years ago when they were still reasonably priced. The 850i/6 was 6months ago. It Sat in a garage for 3years so fuel pumps are bad . Bought that one a ridiculously good price and being the manual 6speed it’s pretty rare . Got the new Bosch pumps and clutch slave cylinder for it but haven’t had time yet ( traveler RN ) . A 2 owner car with service history , owner manuals , full tools set etc. it’s a full time job keeping these old classics properly maintained and on the road but it’s worth it for the pure driving experience of them. Best era of bmw . My daily 540 is still a great car even with 160k miles and can still be found with the 6speed (a must have for the full experience) for under 10,000$.
Ryan such a great teacher! Sure wish we had a shop like yours here in NC. Impressive how well you look after your customers cars.
Sizi severek seyrediyorum emekleriniz için çok teşekkür ediyorum
Love watching you channel, although I have sold my m5 going on a year now, I have a 2003 540i msport 6 speed with 50k original miles. I have followed you since 2017 and have always enjoyed the content, lol the Ohio days were my favorite.
Thank you for the comment! I don't miss working on cars in Ohio though, I have 100x the resources here at the shop!
@@E39Source yeah its very impressive to be honest, would love to have a shower like that.
I have to completely flush my coolant on my 540i. The previous owner drained the blue and put in green. I have a list of parts I'll replace when I do this, so it'll be a pretty in depth job.
Right now it's in the air to add transmission fluid and I'm visually inspecting as much electrical connections, fuse boxes and relays in search of the elusive battery drain problem.
As always , a very clear and informative video.
+1 for the Ultrasonic Cleaner usage
Another video demonstrating the proper way to get a job done on a BMW. Make sure you dispose of the old coolant properly. Our community has free drop off locations where I assume/hope they recycle it.
Thank you Jay! We recycle all of our used fluids pursuant to San Diego County regulations.
See you Monday for my e60m5 thermostat!
Yes sir!
Yeah New Video!! Thanks Ryan.
You have to make more these👍👌
Thanks for your video. Can I please ask what stereo head unit is in that car? I noticed the Bluetooth and iPhone on the display and that’s exactly what I’m looking for to modernise my e39 m5. Thanks
This is called the BlueBus, and it's far and away the best $200 you'll ever spend on your M5! www.bluebus.dev
Thanks for the excellent video. Clearly thisis the best way to do it. What is your opinion of the "vacuum cleaner" type machine that many dealers use? I've used those during DIY events on my car, how much coolant do they get out? TIA.
Vacuum cleaners are quick and easy but almost always leave ~10-20% of the fluid in question behind.
Hello Ryan, could you provide the part number for 10 mm undertray screws which always go missing? Mine are missing too, but I can't find the part number anywhere, thank you.
I have never been able to find the part number for those screws either, I generally convert them to the 1/4 captive screws. The whole point of those is to be quickly released, so the 10mms just got in the way and most everyone has lost them by now.
Hi Sr.
How to bleed the coolant system? If you could explain it I would appreciate it.
The E39 M5 is self-bleeding, so just adjust the level as the car warms up. I go through this procedure towards the end of this video.

its like My Car but Clean.
