The 4-9 is wrong it should have been -5 and not 13 a how him got that Mr did have to go over the video to see how him got that answer cause I was wondering

he said 0x so that students don't get confused and can understand that there are no x's left. To a beginner I can imagine how simple and easy to understand this explanation was.
@@unango5511 it's an equation, so you do the opposite operation of the first number. The number is +, therefore you - if there is a positive next to the -
Panda but how can +6 and + 6 cancel each other. His explanation is not good for a beginner. Multiply Second equation with -3 and that will give more sense as you will get -6x. Then you will be able to say 6x-6x=0.
Because we were were taking the second equation away from the first, the calculation was 4y - -9y, this becomes 4y + 9y because of the double negative. Hope that helped!
Adam A But doesn’t - -= +? What I’m saying is when you get a minus and a minus aren’t you supposed to add the numbers? We will subtract the number if it’s a positive and a minus sign. + - = -
@@lambuffie it wouldn't mattee because we are subtracting a number with a minus number, the positive 4y wouldn't matter seeming as it is in front lf the 4y

Thanks for a very clear explanation and demonstration. Just the name: simultaneous equations, is intimidating. You took the scare out of it.

Adam, it is so pity that you got only two videos, because you can explain theme very well.
Great way to explain the process of solving this equation.
Thank you professor.
Good job professor. Nice one sir.
the explanation was really good. thanks you finally got me to understand how to solve this.. lot of help ... thanks so much
Wow......! This is awesome... Skoolmedia have improved our educational system alot. A very big thanks to skoolmedia and thire teams
The best simultaneous equation that actually explains it with understanding

Thanks professor I understood perfectly
Great help before GCSE exam thanks so much
How is +4y-9y=13y? It should be 5y
Imao I'm surprised too
It’s +4y - (-9y) = 13y (a negative multiplied by a negative equals a positive) don’t know if I make sense
It is +4y - -9y.. a double negative is add
@@cleopatra7776 Now it makes sense.

thank you so much u helped me so much keep up the hard work
I’m confused the 4y+(-9y) you got 13 but the 9 is negative wouldn’t that give you -5?
its 4y-[-9y] wich makes it 4y+9y=13y [subtracting negatives gives an addition]
4y++(--9y)==-5y
I just made your 6.9k into 7k
No worries 😉

because he wants both Xs to be the same so he can cancel them out. 3x2 and 2x3 they both become 6 and we have to also times the rest of the equation.

Good explanation but some of the equations are wrong as +4y -9y= -5y not +13y
Because we were were taking the second equation away from the first, the calculation was 4y - -9y, this becomes 4y + 9y because of the double negative. Hope that helped!
Adam A how did you get the double negatives?
Adam A But doesn’t - -= +? What I’m saying is when you get a minus and a minus aren’t you supposed to add the numbers? We will subtract the number if it’s a positive and a minus sign. + - = -
simply because we have to subtract the first equation to second equation thats why it has double minus. so it will become +4y - (-9y) = 13y.
