@@O_shreyaGupta Cakes are pretty expensive to make. Baking and decorating cakes takes a lottt of time, considering wedding cakes are typically several tiers. Each tier is an individual cake on its own that needs to be decorated. Then assembling it all together has even more work to it. Very pricey lol. A wedding cake can be as low as £150 to even going into the thousands depending on what decoration, cake size and cake flavours you ask for. Definitely sucks though when the cake turns out awful. Never nice spending so much money on a bad cake.
Floral tape is not food safe. It should never come in direct contact with the cake. You can stick the floral tape wrapped stem in straws and that makes the safe to insert into the cake. :)
Alot of people don't pay attention to that , just like baby's breath is actually toxic too ! I hate to say it but that's why unless you study, and learn about a craft you shouldn't play at doing it ! Because it can make people sick of not worst when it comes to handling their food incorrectly.
Professional baker and cake decorator here. First and foremost most no hate here! There is something important for you to know when using real flowers. Thankfully you wrapped the stems but when using real fresh flowers you want to make sure you get flowers that have been grown for consumption. Some flowers naturally are highly toxic but even ones that aren’t can be harmful. Organic has to do with how they are grown not necessarily how they are treated post harvest. It is very common for florists to put bleach and other products in their water to preserve the flowers. They are still organic (because organic refers to how they are grown) but not edible. Just a little factoid for your future endeavors.
The cake turned out beautiful! A friendly suggestion, make sure the flowers you use are not poisonous. A lot of people don't think about that when decorating and can actually make people very sick! I also saw a suggestion to put the taped flowers in a straw and i 100% agree! You are doing amazing work good luck on your future treats!

Upon looking at the cake, I would not try to smooth over where the fruit was. The store did a pretty good job with the rustic icing and the top was smooth already. Instead, place the flowers in the fruit spot and cascade the arrangements down. Best of luck to you, and keep having fun decorating
To get roses to open up more, put the stem between your hands & hold your hands like you're clapping then roll it quick & the force from it will open up the petals! ❤️
This was my wedding cake. Just left the berries on there as they arranged them very nicely on the edge and added a personalized wedding topper. This cake is so good.

I think organic here means no pesticides. Meaning there wouldn't be any pesticide residues in/on the cake from using real flowers. Same thing with organic fruits, vegetables, produces in general

fun fact. of you go to a flower shop and ask for organic flowers, they will give you exactly what you want cause all flowers are organic. there is no difference between organic and non organic flowers, maybe they won't put or give you flower preserve in the vase but that is it. from someone who worked in a flowershop for 3 years
My grandma back in Jamaica made the best wedding cakes. We did the batter, flour, eggs, coloring etc. Made the icing from scratch, good old icing and made those edible icing flowers as decorations even the pearls that were added were edible..I miss having a wholesome cake like that.
Nearly all flowers are edible, and i believe she researches if the flowers are safe for consumption before putting them on. And they're organic flowers, meaning no chemicals or anything is on them and usually with flowers bought from florists they wouldn't have had any bugs or anything on them. So they're 100% safe for consumption:))

It's looks amazing but I would've put a second smaller cake on top. That way it doesn't look smudged together. Gives the cake more dimensions.
