I never thought of this detail.😮 It's cause the oled will turn themselves off instead of go darker resulting in details harder to see.... Thanks for pointing that out
But at 0:08, the same thing happens with the light around the top of the cave on the Mini Led. The OLED shows much more texture and depth to the whole cave.
You can always adjust the black levels on the OLED to be able to see better the shadow areas… although, I don’t like how the white from the clouds is gone on the OLED…
Like Vincent Teoh says: The mini led has much better specular highlight detail in bright scenes. However, the OLED has pixel level control with a better HDR experience in a dark viewing environment.
I don’t want a tv that only looks good at night. I had a A80l and the picture was horrible! Returned it and put my 14 year old plasma back in the living room. I would love a bigger screen but no TV’s manufactured today can match the picture my plasma puts out.
@@pubmeatman yes thats the downside for A80L. i just got my a80l days ago. even the salesman told me if i m going to place it at bright living room, LG C3 is better. In room with lesser light then a80l.
Assuming both TVs use similar settings, I also prefer the Mini LED. Especially the scenery with the abandonded house in the sunset/sunrise is far too dark for my taste, when taking a closer look at the OLED's picture.
I currently have an older Bravia (2017) and I was literally just in Best Buy and another local electronics store doing this exact same thing. I recorded them side by side to be able to look back at. In person though, I told the salesman what many are commenting here. Both TVs are incredible and in some instances, I could see why the OLED would be nice. But overall, the mini just pops and gives you more detail where the dark on the OLED seems to bury the details. This purely falls under a "to each their own" scenario. Both incredible TVs but I think I will be going with the mini.
Is it me or does the OLED have a real blue tinge to it compared to the Mini LED? Like whites get lost in the cloud scene and the close up of the womans face the colours look off. I actually prefer the picture on the Mini LED in most examples.
My opinion is either to get X90L to get XR processor and good brightness FAL, or A75/A80 for unbeatable picture quality. Mini LED is not too much cheaper than OLeD IMO.. 😊
As Mini LED as evolved and black levels have improved, I've come to prefer it over Oled these days. They have certainly caught up in recent years to the point where I truly feel they are a legitimate alternative. Mini-LED pop like nothing an OLED can do and the fact you don't have to baby the TV like we do with OLED is enough for me. After much comparison shopping my next TV will be an 85in Sony X93l.
I just bought the X93L 85” yesterday, waiting on my delivery Monday!!! When next to the A80L oled, the mini led is much brighter. To me the flagship X95L oled and the X93L mini led are a closer match. The x95L has the best picture I saw at BB. The X93L had the 2nd best in my opinion.
The cave scene is the only scene that looked better. OLEDS need to address black crush/shadow detail whats the point of perfect blacks and “inf contrast” if you cant see the damn full scene.
@@Techy_Traveler_Tales no, I’m taking about OLEDS. Idk where you think “vs mini leds” belongs, but oleds are too dim at times and crushes blacks and their ABL features are annoying.
@@vKingLouieI've been saying this for years which is why I have always bought Flagship FALD LCD's like the 75Z9D or more recently the 85X95L. I've had OLED sets and I've always been disappointed because even though they have infinite contrast. They struggle with shadow detail and near black level uniformity. With Flagship LCD's like the 85X95L the black level is about 1 step away from OLED but the near black uniformity and shadow detail is perfect. Then you couple in the fact that it has better color volume unless you get a QD-OLED. Then you realize how much superior LCD really is. Don't even get me started about ABL which happens within 5 seconds of a very bright scene on OLED.
Yes!! I hated the picture in that scene. All of the white gets sort of washed over. The scene of the woman's face as well, colours look way off compared the Mini LED.
No, it’s just brighter. Don’t get me wrong, both look amazing, but pay attention to how much color detail is lost on the mini LED. At 0:08 you can see how the OLED retains green highlights in the foliage beyond the rock, while the mini LED looks blown out. At 0:24 the image looks washed out on the mini LED, while the OLED retains deep blacks in the shadowy areas of the ceiling. Mini LED is better for bright rooms and mixed content viewing (like sports), but OLED will still provide the best picture for films, games and shows in light controlled rooms.
Timestamp 0:03...The OLED is crushing shadow detail on the bottom left corner. You can barely see the grass. While the mini LED is showing everything.
however doesnt show the brighter parts (sunlight section) ... so how do you choose
Personal preference

It’s just crazy how for a lot of us with $200-400 TVs, even something like the X90L would be life changing lol

X93L is certainly brighter, but it looks much more 2D and flat in comparison to the OLED. The A80L almost looks 3D and has incredible depth.
Yess
The a80l is a dim dark mess. I returned mine. I don’t want a tv that only looks good in a completely dark room.

Put either in a room, without the other tv next to it, and the viewer will love it !!!!

Its not just you, Oled does strange things with color. Its too saturated.
Mini led ❤

I just bought the A80Land the picture/blacks are amazing, our planet in 4K is absolutely stunning loving it so far 😮
Super cool
OLED is top notch

I see more details on mini LED but some scenes lack colors. Is it a result of more brightness.
True
I do like OLED, but the crushed dark scene detail is a deal breaker for me.

Both are very good in my view
I did that, bought home a 83 C3 and it the wifi did not work at all. Replaced with a 85 mini led QN90C for 800 dollars less.
I wonder if the OLED would fair a lot better seeing them together in person.

No, it does not.
“Better” is subjective. But in this case I would agree that the Mini-LED appears more natural and balanced in brightness.

0:27 creepy god....sorry but oled with its contrast destroyed mini Led. Even I got oled, I always check on Mini's how they doing :D
:)
The only thing it destroyed is the shadow detail
