Even a person who has done a special course on historical textile designing will not be as enthusiastic as you are .. you don’t need any degree you’ve been born with this aptitude … the pull out wooden bed was marvellous.. I think it could be pulled out to 175 cms in length ..? The amount of research you’ve put in for your cultural history is commendable.. fantastic ..!!! The recreation of the French era at Christie’s was unimaginable..!!! Architectural Digest should come and take a look at La Lande..!!!
the history and commentary is one of the reasons I watch this channel, and the staff is so well informed too. I hope you were able to enjoy NY while you were there too.
Stephanie, you have outdone yourself! I could listen you talk about history for hours! Your knowledge 👌 is outstanding (I know you spend hours researching). Your talks with examples are amazing 👏❤ I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this vignette!!!
I am so proud of you Stephanie, and you too Philip. You are going from strength to strength, inspiring, entertaining and supporting so many of us. 😘😘😘😘😘😘
Stephanie, you could run a master class series of furniture, wall coverings, fabric, design….your conversation is educational but in a fun, super interesting and uplifting way. I’d sign up for your classes in a second!!
Stephanie makes history fun. Always love the knowledge and history lessons she brings to all the places she visits whether it's Christie's or Venice or places in France. Her enthusiasm is contagious. I hope to one day visit LaLande and met her in person. She is such an inspiration and this vignette is so beautiful and fun 😍❤
Loved this. You present things so well and in such an easy educated way its both relaxing and intriguing. Always learn something new during these vignettes.
Absolutely beautiful ! I love the history you bring to the selection of each piece of the vignette. They are all so well thought through. The story you are telling just makes me want to jump in and live that life of the chatelaine!
Your excitement explaining the history of each piece was darling - so much info - will probably watch it again👌You certainly worked hard on this project,.
C'est magnifique! So basically, we just got an old school "Sunday's at the Chateau" on a Thursday! An absolute delight! Thank you. You have such a great way sharing these historical details with us. Just LOVE! Thanks to Christie’s too. It’s obvious they (also) love what they do!
I agree you don’t want it to to finished in an instant! What you are creating at LaLande is so special Stephanie, someone once said ‘it’s better to travel than to arrive’ and every moment that you create, a room or part of the garden, it’s going to be make such pleasant memories for always. I thank you so much for all your sharing, I love the travelling with you all. WCL
Thank you for the wonderful history. I love antiques and the charm they bring to modern life.. the beauty is extraordinary and they actually teach us how to live for today. 🌳🦋🌳
You are absolutely wonderful! The way you tell a magnificent story out of small objects and delight us with beauty and knowledge in every video of yours. Thank you!
What an opportunity of a lifetime to design with Christie’s!!! Stephanie, you exceeded every expectation - and changed my vision of how I want to live the rest of my life in my modest home. Thank you!
Excellent!!! Because I studied fabric design as a student abroad I see the smaller details. The wallpaper is exquisite. What I love the most is the bamboo ground, that also has the look of branch coral. This design is extremely versatile because you can go so many places with your decor. I loved that Stephanie and the curator from Christie’s discussed how rooms evolve. Using a decorator shouldn’t mean that your personality is lost in the room.
I just live hearing the history of things...but, usually only if Stephanie tells it. 😁 Her passion for the subjects is contagious and in it's own way very beautiful.
My mind is always blown away when something is dated so far back. It makes me wonder what one was thinking as they were creating. I do appreciate all the knowledge in history you bring to this channel I’ve been learning so much. You all are a great wonderful group of people. Thank you.
all I can say is wow...I just went to the Christie's online site and looked through the entire lot up for auction in 12 days.....how exciting, and so many beautiful things! Personally I am in love with the cranes......I think I need to win a lottery.....lol
The detailed designed furnitures and colors are bringing life to part of the history with the story behind the scenes very well attention to details of all area each vedio I enjoy the part of the memories of the past
You make learning about history enjoyable & I find my appreciation for the items you discuss only increased as a result! I hope Christie’s includes links to your vlogs about each vignette in the promotional materials for the sale, as your passion & enthusiasm for the items you’ve selected will surely inspire increased bids!!! Well Done & thank you for another wonderful “Sunday” Vlog 😉
Simply brilliant ……. stepping into the mind, creativity and joie de vivre of Stephanie Jarvis! Thoroughly, thoroughly entertaining. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏻🙋♂️
Loved this episode, Stephanie. The vignettes are so beautiful and even more so because of the detailed descriptions and history around the pieces and era. I also love that chair you are sitting on during the presentation.
You are an amazing Fountain of knowledge! I love learning all these details about chateau life, informations i would never have learned myself! Thank you for sharing your process and giving us an inside view of these vignette. I hope they will create great sales! ❤️❤️❤️
Stephanie - you are a star! You are so knowledgeable about the history of the wallpaper and pieces you chose and you and Philip are such a wonderful team creating glorious rooms for Christie's. Well done! I love everything.
Absolutely loving the Christie's collaboration. Your presentation and explanations are fascinating and so well researched and your taste is exquisite! I'm inspired to redecorate my whole house! Thank you so much!
Wow! This was the perfect opportunity to showcase Stephanie's myriad talents and abilities! I love the fact that you brought your own (beautiful) clothing to wear. A true/real chatelaine. Well done, Ms. Jarvis!
Stephanie - how do you create these informative “Sunday” vlogs? Do you write out what you say word for word and then read it or do you have a bullet point list? There is so much information and eloquence in these vlogs. Your delivery is perfect. Thank you for all that you do for your viewers/patrons.
Insanely interesting, great cooperation and on top of all that, this is enlightening! Great collaboration Christie’s and Chateau Diaries. The vignettes are great, I think I feel an need to start collecting old Nordic furniture and fabrics! 😉
I'm loving these Christie's videos. The colours in the study are amazing and I'm feeling justified about a strange previously indefensible colour scheme in my open kitchen, dining etc I've had for years now lol
I absolutely enjoyed this! The historical content was fascinating but I think my favorite thing to come of this series and your vlog, is how you challenge my own design aesthetic. Your talent for combining and pairing seemingly incongruous pieces and showing how they work together and create a 'feeling' is a true talent, and I am the better for it! Thank you!
Oh Stephanie, what a dream!! You just create magic with everything you do! This was just incredible with all the history and beauty and the vignette!! Wow!! Brilliant job!!
Thank you for introducing me to history and Christie’s! Great segments about history and people’s collections for sale. Well done. Hope you have more opportunities to showcase art, history and life.
Passionnant ! Superbe ! Tout est si intelligemment présenté ! Merci pour cette opportunité offerte de découvrir de telles pièces de mobilier. Un exquis agencement de celles-ci leur offre une nouvelle vie, une nouvelle histoire par la grâce de Stéphanie.
Another beautiful room put together!! And the history behind it is so interesting. Your enthusiasm draws me in to the very end! The wallpaper is gorgeous... 💛💛
Stephanie you are a marvel . I have been rejuvenated by your enthusiasm and have extended my own love of history with my book collection on everything French and French design and architecture. Chateau Diaries is reality TV at its best.
You are an inspirational decorator's angel that always cheers the artistic souls. I think you were always meant to be a star, but who would have guessed such a delicious mix of art history , palace history, recipes , ancient life styles and simple artistic joy. Even the little kids , who don't care about what you say, respond to your joyful enthusiastic voice. To quote "Nanna, is she a castle princess?" Yes we said "Of course! " We all adore your talents.
This was SO interesting & wonderful to see so many beautiful antiques ! Hope you get to do this sort of thing elsewhere. Also, love the idea of putting in traditional curtains with a contemporary twist in the Grand Salon. With your taste it will look fabulous. Can't wait to be able to come & visit one day (I'm a patron). Bisous à vous tous xxxx
For anyone who has been wondering, as I have, whereas a female chateau owner is a 'chatelaine' a male chateau owner is a 'chatelain'. I have no idea if the pronunciation is different. I loved that cabinet bed. Even a modern recreation! Thank you for the video. Have a gala weekend!
You are perfect for this position with the design with Christie's! All of your history study plus your ability to create and design so eloquently is marvelous and beyond compare! You are very unique. I think you have aspired to your true self in this life you have become the woman our Lord has wanted you to become. Still, more is required as you are not done in any way, but you were chosen for what you are doing now. Thank you for being such a hostess and the keeper, and director of this home and it will be your legacy through history! You have certainly have become Queen in your own right of Chateau de La Lande! Bless you and your family as well as all that are working and volunteering so hard to make Lalande the lovely Chateau as it is a Diamond in the rough. * "Or was* I know the Patreons need a grand thank you as well.. It is an ongoing process and we know much is yet to come!
AMAZING.. so beautiful fresh airy feel, the history content was very informative and interesting. Your so creative and a perfection eye for everything. Looking forward to next. Love your time and efforts for these lovely vlogs. Nice to hear Philip's laughter 🥀🍾🥂💕🥰
His page must have been enormous. 175 meters equals 574 feet, LOL. I know you meant centimeters. Just teasing. But wow, that commode/camp bed! I've never seen another. What a great thing to have for a flat. Do you know what they used for the "parquet de Versailles" effect on the floor in this vignette? I'd love to do that in my library. Someone in one of the vlogs mentioned a tile that looks exactly like parquet de Versailles, but I haven't been able to find it here. Your vignette packed a lot of design punch! Well done, Stephanie.
In the same vein as the commode that pulls out into a camp bed, some very good friends, now passed on, had a mid-century cabinet that pulled out into a dining table up to 8 feet long--the leaves also stored in the cabinet. Very ingenious, especially since they had a fairly small 2 bedroom apartment with no dining room per se. The table/cabinet was against one wall of the living room.
Wonderful...I think that stunning wallpaper would be perfect for your real study as well; I would seriously consider it when you are going to finish renovating it.
Christie’s hit the jackpot when they invited you to be a tastemaker. The amount of interest that will come from all over the world thanks to the vlogs - wow. What a triumph Stephanie!!
I like how she is coming into her own. I wonder how far she will advance with this interest. Who knows.... I am happy she has found this niche. And manages languages so well.
Love the wall paper I think it should be used in one of the bedrooms the colors are so beautiful and vibrant the wallpaper from the Christy's lunch is just fabulous.
Another wonderful video thank you so much Stephanie. In telling these stories you make all these antiques full of life, and give us inspiration even though we may never own them. We're truly lucky to be able to share your magical world, thank you again!! Love and hugs Jo xx
Stephanie - what a wonderful vlog! So much wonderful history and tips for collectors. I encourage you to create a Palace-Jewel Room in the chateau that you fill with treasures at this level of quality and beauty! Something like your own Green Vault or Amber Room.
About Georg Haupt and the camp bed. Georg Haupt actually signed the bed all along the whole front of it! ”G. Haupt Ebéniste du Roi à Stockh”! But then again he was amazing. Congrats Stephanie and Philip. No connoisseur myself of antiques but these vignettes are stunning. I particularly love the wall coverings, just works so well. Clearly your talents are well used here. Hope this brings further opportunities to your door, you have found your niche. 🧡👍😁
Stephanie your design knowledge is beyond the pale. I would really love to see you do more of this sort of thing. The study looked beautiful, not my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal for you and many others.
Always love history and beautiful interior design, these videos have been delightful. So glad you inspired a colorful and whimsical feel to your designs, a lot of designs here that in the US could use more life in our interior aesthetics.
That rock crystal bird piece is stunning, Ive seen a few of those types of l'objets come about in the past few years, usually Austro-Hungarian 19th century but mimicking 17th and 16th century treasures.
That was lovely stephanie, you definitely deserve a glass of wine,😃i loved that wallpaper and everything you designed around the room, well done, 🥰im looking forward to seeing you on chateau diy which started recently on channel 4,🥰🐝🦋🌻
You have done such a wonderful job with explaining your design decisions and filling in with such wonderful background on the items and the artists who made them. I especially liked at the end talking with Jill from Christie's that you both mention about rooms evolving as time goes on and surrounding yourselves with beautiful pieces, though my style is very different, and my home is a far cry from a chateau, I love the pieces and paintings that I collect from family, thrift stores, antique malls, and even the side of the road. The rooms become what is in my soul and I get to enjoy them daily.

She actually says 175 METRES!
Ahhh fantastic old school amazing chateau diaries.... this is Ms. Jarvis at her very very best 😍🥰
Agreed! She was born for this and we are blessed to be able to learn from her..luv luv luv her!!😊
Is it me or did Stephanie say that the cabinet bed pulled out to 175 meters?
the history and commentary is one of the reasons I watch this channel, and the staff is so well informed too. I hope you were able to enjoy NY while you were there too.

A magnificent job at Christie's and with this video. I love how excited you get when you tell a story.

Thank you for another wonderful video! It's a joyous thing when I see you on my feed❤️☀️
Absolutely awesome! Interesting and well presented. I love learning about the history of the pieces!
Christie’s hit the jackpot when they invited you to be a tastemaker. The amount of interest that will come from all over the world thanks to the vlogs - wow. What a triumph Stephanie!!
Honestly, Steph, you should make your own historical interior design course!
And this is a prime example of the Chateau Diaries at its artistic, educational, and charming BEST💛❤️🧡💜💙

Love this girl x
I agree with all the here-to-fore kudos on your work at Christie's, but my comment is....that skirt, sweater and
heels look AMAZING on you!!
Fabulous presentation, historical information in lively expression, really fascinating. Thank you very very much
Omg, this vlog was such a treat! I would have watched for hours.
