I think I'm going to get my private license this summer. I want a plane like this. The price is so low for the performance and fun and tbh your cross country trip sealed the deal for me
Hey Dan! Yes the cross country was a blast total unknown adventure. I gave myself a week both ways in case of weather. I did my pilots license fast and it took about 6 months I think it was. You can get some good deals on Sonex on barnstormers. Being able to do my own repairs is a super bonus---makes it one cheap date! Only way I could afford to fly....and I don't have to wait for a mechanic which is more of an issue lately.
You noticed!! I'm excited--first flight on my new faster prop. Prince figured he could give me 2" more bite so now its a 52". I figured 2" would be 5mph at the same rpm but.... Its definitely more bite! I love it. Climb was great today but we will see how that is affected this summer. Great thing about turbo though----add more POWER!!! I didn't even to a 40" take off either 160mph by time it hit numbers in pattern...... soooooo happy. will do some performance tests later. I assume i'm about 6gph here
