The DMP-30 is around $130 during the “Choice Day” sale happening on AliExpress right now. Search term: Jecod DMP. See my previous videos if you’d like to know more about other DMP versions, its flow capabilities, or the Jebao Aqua app.
I ordered a DMP10 and it came in DOA. After comparing it against the MP10 quality wise and the fact that it came in DOA I decided to return it. Had the hardest time working with the seller to return even though it was DOA. After about a week of back and forth they finally setup a return for me. I'll stick with EcoTech and pay the premium price for the quality.
Do it. It’s your money and your hobby. All 3 of my units have been lights-out functional, so far. And I’ve got two more on the way. If I get a dead one, I’ll let folks know that it can happen. I would have had absolutely 0 expectation of customer care for one of these pumps, for what it’s worth. It’s a Chinese shop selling them on a Chinese platform. Part of that dirt cheap price, for me, includes an unwritten agreement that service just isn’t gonna happen. You’re lucky the shop eventually worked with you to take a shot at resolving it. I’d have just bought another one and still been only 2/3 of the way toward the cost of a VorTech lol. I’ll never buy another piece of EcoTech Marine gear. Different strokes for different folks!
@kalamazoo_reefer I knew the risk like you said and support is non existent as well. They pumps do seem solid if you get a good one. keep doing what you are doing. appreciate it.
Will do, sir. I want people to see all their options. Everyone sees Aperture’s offerings. You can’t be in this hobby and avoid being flooded with their stuff. So I attempt to provide a bit of balance.
Since you seem to have tried out most sizes of these pumps, what size would you use on a 90 gallon(48"x18"x24") reef? Mostly LPS with a few easy SPS(montis, pocillopora, and stylo.)
@@davidhahn79 I’ve tried them all. I own all 4 iterations now. Haha! In my opinion, you’d be best rolling with 3-4 DMP-30s. I think the 30 is the strongest entry in this lineup. I run two 30s on one end of my 80 gallon, and a -40 on the other end. If I could do it again, I’d go with four 30s. Two on each end. The 30 just feels ridiculously solid in all aspects to me. The 40 is fine. I just have a preference for the 30 because it feels so dang solid all around.
@@kalamazoo_reefer Thanks. I ordered a 30. I want to try it out. I'm thinking of two on the side close to the wall, and either an eow or crossflow vertically on the backwall of the other side so I can keep that side view clear.
So Reef Dork got the American plug connector and you got the United Kingdom plug connector? That doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. You would think they’d just send an American cord to America and vice versa. I wouldn’t want to use that adapter. That being said, when I need a wave maker I’ll probably pick one of the DMP’s up. It might be a while before I get one because allI have are Jebao wave makers and return pumps and they’ve all been running for years. I can’t stand when people say “if you want to buy a pump every year, buy a Jebao”. It’s lazy imo. Buy what fits your budget. Thanks for the unboxing.
He misspoke. I think we both got Aussie connectors…maybe. Lol. I’m pretty sure it was the same plug layout though. You will get the correct adapter in the box no matter what. I found an American power cord for the Jebao power brick for $5 on Amazon, luckily.

i wish they had 0-10v control option so i could plug it in and control it via my home made aquarium controller lol
Can you tell me how long the outer part is? I don't have much space between the wall and the aquarium.

Hey man, could you please check? If they added frequency option on random mode.
They didn’t add a frequency option, but they did add an intensity control option.

Also, thanks for the thoughts after the plug discussion. Totally with you, friend!
Anyone know what unforeseen issue at airport means in Ali express?
A delay or a customs holdup because it has a small battery inside. I’ve never had one not get through. They’ll sort it, I’m 99% sure.
@ good to know thank you very much!
