Is it possible to solder a diffrent wifi on the usb or replace the broadcom wifi? The internal Broadcom wifi does not WORK good. an external wifi dongle is far more stable. 2) Is it possible to solder a power charger intrance on this Chuwi Hi8, the battery drains down very fast.
+TechTablets.com, can you show how to disconnect touch screen from mother board? I.e. that cable you are pointing on 1:18. I need to replace my screen, but I am having problem by disconnecting that cable.
Pull the white plastic away from the pin.. Then the fleksible cable will loose and you can pull it easily.. Btw can i know serial number for the lcd part? Not the touch panel..
Hi, is it possible to make a sort of video out of this using the flex cable? I ruined my LCD display and the battery... Was hoping to make it somehow a stationary mini PC for small tasks.
Hi I need a parts code. Repairman has burned it. It is between red cable and input region flex cable of camera. 6 pin smd chip. Can you give this parts code ?
hi techtablets. can i replace this battery with my hi8 battery ? because the battery on my chuwi hi8 is bad if i play games like minecraft it will drink the battery like a juice. on minecraft gaming is 1.30 to 1.45 hours. so if i play games like modern combat 4\5 or dead trigger 2 the battery life is 1 hour so if i can replace this thanks for telling me.
Thinking more and more of picking this up. Also looking at a Chuwi Vi10 OR... a Cube i10. Any interest in reviewing the latter? Chuwi seems like the winner but I'm not sure on quality between the brands.
Excellent video! Is it really possible however to switch the cameras if I found the 5mpix sensor with the same port? Are there any drivers required to be installed? Does the camera software need to be reprogrammed? Or do the Android and Windows figure out by themselves which sensor the device is currently carrying? I'm sorry for a bunch of these questions but the fact that you can simply replace the cameras really intrigued me very much! Have an amazing day man! Looking forward to more content!
I bought the ChuWi Hi10, but it boots into EFI Shell instead of Windows reporting "map: Cannot find required map name". Looking at other problems people have with their gaming desktops, it might be a hard drive problem (like being disconnected or something). Would this be accessible or would it be soldered in or under the heat sink?
What do you recommend to improve thermal dissipation on this tablet? it really gets hot when Wifi is On plus gaming.. particularly Sim City Buildit on android. Thinking of customizing the entire rear chassis with an aluminum or copper sheet and have the cooling pads directly on that. I bet that would be better than the stock plastic casing.
Hi, thx for this video. I need to replace the screen also, ordered it from Banggood really cheap. Pulling te tablet apart is very easy BUT I cant get the flatcable disconnect from the motherboard, I try to keep it in working order ;-)Would appreciate the tips!
Is it possible to connect another speaker to this? Do I need additional drivers for it or it will just work? You didn't find a gps chip in the tablet, right?
KingOfAllChunks as much as I remember, the Vi8 super doal boot also had "GPS" mentioned on it's antenna when you opened it up. They're using the same motherboard for most of their tablets. So I guess that we should expect the same tab as this, but with GPS, 3G and stereo speakers? It would be exactly the same as the V89 but 1 inch smaller.
KingOfAllChunks I'm not 100% sure but the chipset has intigrated Wifi, bluetooth, gps and glonass but might not be bios enabled. Personally I dont need gps in a tablet and i'm not going to rip it apat looking for answers if it has gps or not. It could be the aerial support gps and wifi, with only wifi being used. So its one or the other.
İ was wondering if you could help. My chuwi hi8 is dead. It s giving me efi shell. I cant reinstall windows because there is not enough space in the eMMc. Since the tablet is not working i cant integrate windows and android eMMcs. So my question is this : Can i buy an eMMc and add it to the motherboard and install windows in that ?
Anyone know if removing the battery and powering off an external power supply is as simple as cutting the red and black wire that goes to the battery and connecting your own 3.7v source? I want to use this for a robot, not as an actual tablet.
TechTablets.com thought of buying teclast x16 plus seems a really good device but I'm not sure of the gaming and multitasking from 2gb ram and the comparatively big bezels too

What's the brand of the battery? How do I know my chuwi has good brand battery?

i think that the interference would be enough to cripple the tablets performance but i am curious now...im gonna try it.
Any chance the eMMC is upgradeable? Doesn't look like it, but here's hoping!
Chris Rohlfs Not upgradable.
TechTablets.com Ahh bugger, chur bro!

KingOfAllChunks Something is missing, maybe the cable for the GPS.
TechTablets.com if you have experience with soldering and advanced electronics, why not try to connect it if you think that that's mssing?
