Thank you Allen! And yes we do, and im just trying to find a way to connect the older generations style to these younger kids to hopefully keep the old ways alive as long as we can
I lived in Charlotte when SEGA started and watched many events around the area. I have many great pics. In 2017 I moved away and miss seeing the events today. Your coverage takes me back to the period that takes us all back. Thanks
Man what a powerful piece! Like you and so many others, the Southeast Gassers Association gives me a clear view of a time I didn't get to experience first hand. We're fortunate that we get a front row seat, and the opportunity to tell the story over and over. Great work.
I can tell! And I always enjoy a video much more that tells a good story. I just struggle with being able to tell one. But I am working on it. I realize I’m not going to be able to progress if I don’t learn it!
I am definitely a huge fan of your vision and work, all of your stuff is awesome but this one is over the top, it speaks to so much more than a bunch of old race cars and guys but a generation. Thanks BB
Excellent job of telling the story. Very well done. Photography and videos literally capture a moment(s) in time, and preserves them forever. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! And yes they definitely can capture a moment and time! I used to hate photos as a kid and now regretting that cause I don’t have as much to look back on as I could have
Great video - brought me back to my younger days. I'm 78 and grew up in that era. The days of the Swamp Rat, Don Garalits, Tommy Ivo's four Buick engine "rail job," Tony Nancy's "tailored tiger," and so many, many others. Just about anyone could build a car, drive it to the drag strip and race on Sunday. In Southern CA, where I'm from, there were several great strips to go to... and one-by-one, they diapered.. Sad times for those of us who were weekend racers!
Thank you! And man it sounds more and more like just an awesome time to have lived! I actually seen Don Garlits earlier this year at the Pro Superstar Shootout when I was videoing for FloRacing and Drag Illustrated. But my stupid self was busy the whole time and didn’t realize it was him until I got back home. 😞. And yes the track closings are sad to see. I seen too where Irwindale is shutting down at the end of this year too
Yup, we used to have San Fernando, Irwindale, San Gabriel, Long Beach, several in Orange County - all within about a 50/60 radius. AND, just about anyone could compete. I had a friend who built C/Gas Willys.. he was not wealthy but was a good mechanic and able to build the car, the engine and race - those days were when there were everyone, even the big guns like Garlits and Perdome would chat with their fans between races. It was also a time of innovation.
I love this!!!👍 N.H.R.A. today blows big ones! Thank god for the old school meets. I grew up with the Gasser era. The best category N.H.R.A. had. Good job on this video.👍
Extremely well done. I thought I may have been the only one that felt that way. I grew up street racing in the 70's, and your assessment is spot on. Simpler, more raw energy and passion. Still nothing like a big block, 4 speed with a verti-gate and 4.56's to give you a rush.
I’m about your age and I’m just starting to build a Rambler hoping to run with the Southeast Gassers next year or the year after. I’ll be at Shadyside later this week and cannot wait to experience it for the first time. Thanks for this video.
Awesome! If you get the chance I would say go talk to Tim Hall in the Scalded Dog as he is running a Rambler. And if you see me out and about say hey! Thanks for watching!
That was kind of what I was going for! I wanted it to relate to a lot of people. I feel like there are so many of us that was born after the 60’s that wish we were born and alive during the 60’s
The gassers back in the 60s weren't near as powerful as the ones at southeast gasser events. I like the rule about 4 speed manual shift only but back in the 60s a lot of gasser ran power glide built auto Trans. They were preferred because they only shifted one time and there was no rule about manual or automatic. Back in the day they ran 1/4 mile. With the power they have now if they were geared for 1/4 mile the speeds would be tremendous. That was then this is now. I am 78 years have always loved drag racing
Very true statement! Advancements in engineering has come along ways to make these cars much faster and make more power. And I sometimes wish SEGA was 1/4 or wish we would run a quarter mile track once or twice a year, but I understand why we don’t. There’s fewer and fewer 1/4 mile tracks left today that is still operating. It’s almost just the NHRA tracks that are left. At least around the Southeast.
Great Job .. We all have a love for the cars and the action
Thank you Allen! And yes we do, and im just trying to find a way to connect the older generations style to these younger kids to hopefully keep the old ways alive as long as we can
I hope there are a lot of younger people with the same passion, because that scene deserves to go on forever.
I hope so too!
Dylan, this video is 100 percent awesome! Great job.
Thank you sir! Much appreciated! I want to do videos like this more moving forward!
OUTSTANDING!!!
Thank you! Very much appreciated!

Thank you Tom! See you in at Shadyside!

Thank you Tommy! It means a lot coming from you! You among others have inspired me and pushed me to want to learn how to tell a story over a video!
@@dh.media_ story telling is one of my favorite things. It's challenging and rewarding and it rarely feels like a job. Looking forward to seeing more!

Thank you very much BB!
I'm from that time and still put in the time with our gasser and with our 36 year old son at the wheel. Well done Dylan. Great little video!
Thank you!

Your videos are always top notch! They say a picture says a thousand words but your videos tell a thousand stories !Awesome work my friend!
Thank you sir! See you at Shadyside!

NHRA is still fun to watch the top fuel and funny car but yes it still blows. They are hurting the sport of drag racing in my opinion
Great job on the video! Very inspiring! Keepin' the hobby alive through your lens!!! Hats off to you!!!!
Thank you! 🍻 and trying my best to!

Outstanding video! Also, thank you for your service!

I was a kid watching the evolution of Gassers and the A/FX evolution into Funny Cars. A great time!
I would’ve loved to be able to witness all of that!
Got me in the feels dude. Really good
THANK YOU! 🙌🏼 It’s taken me awhile to get to this point of making a video like this so it’s great to hear that!
