i 100% agree, the amount of patient care relationship building you get out of anesthesia is up to the individual. but choosing to be there for your patient, even if it is in those few minutes prior to surgery could make a world of difference so why not do it :)

Congrats!!! New Haven & Yale is a wonderful place, don't know if you've been there in person yet but you'll be blown away. Not sure if you know this but pizza is a big deal there, many people claim that New Haven invented it. They have their own style, with some odd toppings... But it's great. My favorite place is Sally's, super close to campus. And NYC is only 2 hours away on the train for more awesome experiences and more great pizza! Enjoy it, you've helped so many people through this channel and will be a great anesthesiologist!

Congratulations, my son matched to anesthesia residency at ubc on March 19/ 2024 . I was crying when I got the message from him . And he said he was on the moon at that moment . Only 6 of them matched to anesthesiology department this year including him.
