This is by far the most useful video for me. You just resolved a big issue I had with one of LV cross body’s. I am very short and was looking for ideas to shorten the chain. I was almost going to get another bag so you just saved 3 k .. love ya !
I am 5’ 9” also and I am not skinny😜 I have always bought Dooney and Bourke cross body bags. Not always loving the bags... but they have much longer straps and they fit me so well for a cross body bag. I have been in Louis Vuitton stores and almost bought a bag many, many times.....but they look so horrible on me, because of this reason. I will check out these Etsy stores. I know of Dooney & Bourke, BTW, but the brand is not really known here in Japan. I have seen a few of their bags on the pre-loved market, though, presumably from Japanese tourists in the US. I have to admit that overall the brand is not to my taste, though.

I'm plus size and short. I'm a coach and Michael kors fan. I needed a replacement strap for my Michael kors bedford bag. The strap was still to short for my taste even though I'm 5 3. I found a really good replacement on Amazon. Still looking for my coach. Also new subscriber.
Cheers, Purple Squirrel! I have a beautiful coach reveal coming up shortly! :) Two positive things I see happening with handbags: 1) more 3rd party strap sellers 2) more bags being sold with detachable straps. This makes oh so much sense... Both buyers and sellers will be happier.
For small bags on my very large frame, I generally go with about 140cm which means that the top of my bag starts at my hip bone. For medium-large bags where the bulk and top-bottom length is higher, 135cm is OK for me. I'm around 175cm tall.

I have the same problem. For shorter girls the straps can be adjusted with a lil knot in the strap. Im 5.9 and look ridiculous with a bag in my rib😭
