  • Here's my solo take on the beautiful Bossa song by Brazilian composer Luis Bonfa. Played on my trusty Eastman AR371CE guitar, to an audience of 2 people, one of whom clapped!

    Неймовірно красива тема і віртуозне виконання! Аплодую стоячи! Саме така музика і є вічною. А чорно-біле відео додає особливого ретро-шарму.

    Your description of this video is hilarious. "one of whom clapped!" ha ha. Being someone who also gigs in small lounges and over dinner, I know exactly what you're talking about. Your playing is absolutely brilliant. I'd have been on my feet at the end of that!

    You are awesome! Don’t be concerned w the audience. You are playing from the heart and we can feel it!

    The main thing is you have yourself out there. Some gigs are lucky, but most are just enjoy the fact you are there at all playing what you love. Two or two hundred. As long as you walk out with a sense of thankfulness to be able to do what you love. Sure beats playing hackneyed rock covers ad infinitum... :puke:

    I do solo guitar as well... and a small audience for one of the most difficult thing a guitarist can do ( improvising melody, comping and keeping the groove all at the same time...) is one of the wrongest things in the world :D. Sounding great and much respect.

    Wow!!! Just beautiful!!! Your playing gives the impression at certain points of two guitars being played, one the changes and one the melody. It reminds me of Joe Pass in that way. Of course you have a completely different style. Are you classically trained? You have a very classical style.

    You are very talented. How many hours a day do you practice? I'm learning guitar and I would like to know what's a good practice session. I try to shoot for one to two hours. I would love to do 3 but with kids that's not always possible.

      +nomad27410 Just wanted to encourage you to just practice as much as you can. The time spent with kids is invaluable and through the goodness of God, who likes kids, will be reflected in the soul of your playing.

    Your playing is exquisite but I'm really worried about your posture. Your right shoulder is so high and pulled in close to your body. You don't look very relaxed. I'm just worried that you could be plagued by shoulder or back pain later in life.

    • @samdunnguitar
      @samdunnguitar  10 лет назад +1

      Thanks for that, I'm just looking at the video now, my posture really looks terrible! I think the angle of the camera makes it look worse, because I look like the hunchback of notre dam here!!! I'm going to practice in front of a large mirror now!

    • @FlaxeMusic

      It does sort of look that way but I think the shoulder pad has just gone his own way a little bit, the actual shoulder is much lower than where the peak of the shoulder hump would indicate.

  • @jeffreyhiman5198

    That's the problem between rock musicians and jazz musicians. A rock musician only knows 3 chords and plays to 10,000 people while jazz musician plays 10,000 chords to only 3 people.
