I used the shortcut to create automation for my doorbell. I used to miss my parcel at lot because I always have my headset on with full blast music. This automation helped by notify me when the doorbell was pressed
I am a UK viewer of this video, and I have been looking for this feature for ages. You have solved my problem, and helped to improve my battery life. Keep up the good work! Many thanks. Terry Davis
You can use a Chargie device to actually stop your phone's charging process at whatever level you want, not only 80 or 90%, and have it restart somewhere lower. It's a great little device, check it out.
Well, the Chargie app looses the connection to the chargie hardware often (I have many chargies, latest hardware revision, I can tell) It also does not work with QI chargers and also has issues with long cables (which charge well without chargie). The app itself is not very user friendly as its overloaded with options nobody really needs. Chargie would be a much better device If it would act as a simple Apple home / automation enabled switch without any instable software but use the build in iOS automation features. I wrote this many times to you and offered co-operation and testing but you never showed interest.
Thank you so much! I was looking for an app to do this. I Googled "iPhone app that notifies when battery charged to 80" and your video was the first result. I'm so glad this is possible locally on the phone without downloading anything... And thank you for making this video! Really, really, really helpful! Thanks!
This video is first class: foolproof and I would have been lost without it. I created a battery alert shortcut quite a while ago. Then I fiddled. I managed to inadvertently edit out "vibrate device" so started over. Finger trouble, really. Thank you so much. The video for me was nicely paced. Greetings from NZ in a v chilly winter.
There’s two schools of thought towards preserving the battery. This method is definitely great in maintaining the longevity of the battery health, but comes at the cost of battery longevity for the use throughout the day, as in charging to 80% vs 100%. The second option is to charge the phone fully overnight to 100% giving you more on screen time to use during the day. Even if the battery’s overall health lasts for several years, you can always replace the battery for about $60 at an Apple Store. Just enjoy the phone without overthinking it! At the end of the day, the phone is here to serve us, not the other way around!
I was reading about that long time ago, you can get 9000 charge cycles and probably more if you stay between 20%-25% and 80% charge. It's like a athletic runner, if he would train 100% the time he would die also earlier. Thats why stress is a big problem for health in everything not only people.
@@senseisensei3377 best to 80% and slow charging. But it depends on the chemtrail components in the battery's and the temperature it be charged, in room temperature is preferable.
In the last video you showed us how to download a ringtone that was great it was clear cut BUT you never showed us how to download the music we want to use e.g. Spotify, RUclips or other music sites. Can you make a video and show us all how to find music from the mention sites and show us. Thank you
Few queries How to set up different notification tone for battery level reached alert ? Actually I am getting the notification alert sound even though the phone is in silent mode - any idea how to mute that?
How to change the sound of notifications? It would be great to know how to get another one for each so it will not be like when I get a message on Facebook messenger. Thank you
Hi again, this does not show in my shortcuts and incoming email sounds, means that it is difficult to seperate the two. Your thoughts please. Many thanks. Terry Davis
Smart. I posted about taking care of battery in the ipad and in the ipad mini subreddit, and users there don't like hearing facts about batteries. Bad for them, good for us...
Hi, Anne from Western Canada here. Could u do a video on how to program a windows laptop to not charge past 80%. Mine is HP. Thanks, your vids are so easy to follow!
The notification sound is short and doesn't repeat, it's better to choose play song, the music will play longer so I can hear it if I'm in another room.
This is helpful being as though I only charge my phone to 80 and I always forget to unplug the charger when it gets to 80
Thank you! I just got the iPhone 14 a few days ago and want to maximize the battery as much as possible
Watching this with my samsung & doing it on my IPHONE is a blessing...thank you so much
I wanted this feature so bad and im really glad I found this video!! Thank you so much.

Lovely video but I wish you could teach us one more thing. How to set up a different, longer notification sound?
Yes, I agree to this

Thank you Daniel, I was looking for third party apps to do so. You showed me it easily and nicely. Cheers!
Alhamdulillah. Found this video n now I have this feature of past 80% battery charging notification. This is really very useful. Super like👍
The only thing destroys your battery when you play online games while your charging
And overcharging

Do you also find it necessary to limit the Apple Watch to 80%?
Great video. Is it possible to create a similar notification when charging the Apple Watch?
THANK YOU FOR THIS VERY IMPORTANT ADVISE. YOU JUST EARNED A LIKE !!!!
Thanks, Daniel. Mind telling when should we charge the iPhone? When battery remains 20%?
Thank you so much m8 , you just earned a like ! .Easy to understand tutorial ,to the point . Very well done 👍

Very helpful and detailed been looking for this everywhere!
Excellent Tip Daniel just what i was looking for , what more usefull shorcuts do you have ? new subscriber!
Great video, but how do you change the sound produced. I would like to play a ipad supplied ringtone.
If you make a short cut turn on low power mode when connected to power you'll get a notification saying "battery sufficiently charged" at 80%
Hi, thanks a lot for this! Is there a chance to have the same thing for the Apple Watch?
Does this work only on the Iphone app or does it work on Macbooks too ? I couldn't see automation option in the Shortcuts app for Macbook
Can we do it on Andoid phone?
There is a 3rd party app but doesn't seem to work consistently.
But how do you stop the built in ding noise that it plays at 80%? Minimizing interruptions here.
thanks, it helps a lot. but i wonder if there is a way to do so on a Macbook?
Thanks a lot. Easier to do this than to try and find another way
Can we do this on Mcbook too ?
Cheers mate 👌🏻 Very helpful information 😊
Awesome! How can I make the same shortcut for apple watch?
really this is very useful. thank you so much.

You are a genius bro!! Do you know how we can add always on display?
Great vid bud. Saved me some time. Thanks!!!
Can this automation be added to MacOS? I would love use this on my MacBook Pro but cannot seem to build or share it over...
This is really helpful. Thank you.
How about for android phones?
Thanks Man, can sounds change for notification
Did you find an answer to this? the Notification sound is too subtle.
What does the “optimized battery charging” option do then? And how is this video relevant to that?
Any idea who we can do this on our M1 macbook. I tried looking out for mac, but it doesn't show up.
How to change the sound of notifications? It would be great to know how to get another one for each so it will not be like when I get a message on Facebook messenger. Thank you

Can you change the sound of the 'play sound'?
Nice automation. You can try chargie device that automatically disconnects power to your phone when it charges to 80% for instance.
how?
Sir, how can I change the sound? Thank you in advance
Thank you. It’s powerful. Love it
Wow great content brother good to go
