Large roof over hangs are beautiful and protect the doors, windows and siding from rain and moisture damage. Water is the enemy of buildings. Architects and home builders need to bring back large roof over hangs
Elegant looking design and forms. A respectful comment: buck the trend of dark grey cladding and trim and instead use an evergreen. It would meld better with the site, not be dated in 10 years, and amplify the wood trim/features.
From a visual point of view I like flat roofs but in forest environments I see something that will fail in the future as that organic matter blocks up limited options to rain water sheading. From your 3D render the old barn doesn't look like an old building anymore, why keep the structure? Why not repurpose some of the better beams and feature lumber and be unlocked from the old buildings position and design? Loved the boat house cladding, what the name/link of the product?
Thanks for your comment! Great question! There is no such thing as a “flat” roof. That indeed would be horrible design from a water shedding perspective. We design low slope roofs with 2 ply modified bitumen layers that drain to roof drains that are always heat traced and draining on the exterior of the building envelope. This way we ensure that if there is a drainage problem, it never affects the interior of the building. When we design buildings to hold snow instead of shed snow, we work closely with our structural engineers to ensure more than enough capacity for the roof to hold many feet of snow. Thanks again for watching and commenting!
i only see hands… its hard to see any property when camera focus is on some millennial… i guess next time they better use morgan freeman voice over and drop the “mv” out of the picture
We love using alumum pannels because it's cheap. This is not a car part store in a industrial neighborhood. It's irrelevant! What's with a gabled roof over the entrance? Serves no purpose, doesn't add to the design. Flashy at best but really gives a cheap look to the building. No architect with self respect would ever do something like this.
Can hardly wait for the landscaping.
2 acres ... nice.
You and us both!

I love the design and everthing...I just wondering instead of using wood is it possible to use concrete for the guest house...🤔🤔🤔

Flat roof in a heavy snow area. And they call themselves architects?
