Ty so much..For the time being I am trying to learn Frech on my own as a third language..my mother tongue is Turkish,I am an English teacher and an architect..for two months I ‘ve been studying French, and has been A2 by myself…difficult language but I love it..everyday I study half an hour
Hey. I came across this message. Funnily, I'm also an English teacher, and I've been learning French since the beginning of November and I'm also learning it for 30min a day. What a coincidence 😅
Key Tips for Learning a Language from This Video: 1. Use Your Memory: Practice recalling and using words or sentences you’ve learned. Your brain improves as it identifies and corrects mistakes. 2. Correct Mistakes: Pay attention to and stop using incorrect words or grammar. Focus on practicing the correct way. 3. Learn What You Love: Study the language through topics you enjoy or need, such as daily conversations or work-related subjects. 4. Set Goals: Create a clear plan with small, realistic steps to steadily improve your language skills. 5. Leverage Experience: Apply the “chess player” analogy-immerse yourself in contexts where you can learn naturally, such as reading books or listening to podcasts in the language you’re practicing.
Thank you Steven for this beautiful video! 2024 has been actually being my year already, I've started tackling italian by assimil and a Napolitan girl, norwegian by assimil, and in order to jeep moving forward doing the listening phase in German through easy german on RUclips (long-term goal)
Goal for this year is to hit 15k know words in greek. Was really encouraging this year to start understanding videos without looking at the subtitles I wish everyone well in their own respective languages. And to anyone learning English don’t be disheartened by the grammar somethings I forget it and it’s my native language😂
Thank you, Steve, for another interesting film. I look forward to finding out your resolutions for 2025. I prefer to think in terms of habits rather than resolutions. So, I will spend one hour each day learning Mandarin works better for me than saying I will be fluent in Mandarin by September, or something similar. All the best for 2025!
Well from this video I took some really good information how to build myself plans for the next year and that's really good for me because I still remember how I created some plans for 2024 and I achieved only 50% of these goals but in the next 2025 year I gonna achieve more than early and finally get more strong in languages and together with this improve my current languages. And thank you so much for your wonderful content about language that's really wonderful and curious
Dear sir It's valuable to understand actions of nevers system and to improve spoken ability .therefore your advice is important to improve power of mind .I am following your lesson to improve my spoken ability in English .those are brilliant for me to light my future in spoken English side. Thank you so much sir .may the triple gems bless you and your family member .🙏🙏🙏👌👍

For Those Who Speak English as a Second Language: How to Apply Daily English Practice 1. Refine Predictions: • Practice predicting what words or grammar structures might come next in a sentence. For example, read English dialogues and try to anticipate responses. 2. Identify Core Values: • Focus on learning practical and meaningful language skills, such as improving communication for work, academics, or everyday conversations. 3. Suppress Incorrect Forms: • Actively notice and replace incorrect English expressions. For instance, if you say, “He don’t go,” quickly correct it to, “He doesn’t go.” 4. Commit to a Resolution: • Set clear and achievable language goals, like learning 10 new words per week or practicing speaking for 15 minutes each day. 5. Filter Information: • Avoid distractions and irrelevant materials. Prioritize quality resources, such as language-focused podcasts, educational videos, or structured learning tools that align with your goals.
Most World Chess Champions are at their best between the years 22 to 35 let's say. Even thou we have the youngest World Champion at around 19 I think. But I think this is the Math Part of the Brain. I'm pretty good at chess and I can memorize like15 moves of more of Ruy Lopez (Chess Opening) if I wanted to. Not a big deal. But at my age 66 trying to learn Spanish and Korean. I find way harder!!!! Language learning is the more artistic side of the brain I think. Math vs Art.
No, it's not necessary. People from different areas (or even different families) speak at different speeds. Hopefully you can understand the faster speakers, but you can always ask them to slow down. Native speakers sometimes have difficulty understanding fast-talkers, so don't worry if you have trouble as well.
It's a long form lecture about the importance of contemplating your values, temperament, and where you are in your life before you set your new year goals. As opposed to, for example, simply going to one of the many YT videos out there and just grabbing the most popular language learning method and assuming it will work for you.
I believe all languages are rich. I also believe that all people are entitled to their own homeland if that is what most of them desire. I would love to learn Kurdish one day. Curious to see how close it is to its cousin Persian.
It’s my pleasure to discuss this topic with you! If you’d like, we could even create a video where I explain it in more detail. Kurdish (specifically Kurmanji) and Farsi are distinct languages with unique linguistic and cultural identities. They share some historical connections, but their vocabulary, grammar, syntax, and alphabets are quite different. For instance, Kurmanji uses the Latin alphabet with 31 letters and (sorani 33 letters ), while Farsi uses the Perso-Arabic script with 32 letters. Culturally, the Kurdish-speaking community, especially those using Kurmanji, has its own traditions, music, and oral literature, distinct from Persian culture. Additionally, Kurmanji has a different structure compared to Farsi-for example, verbs are placed at the end of sentences in Kurmanji, while Farsi follows a different word order. These linguistic and cultural differences clearly show that Kurdish and Farsi are as distinct as, for example, Spanish and German, even though they share the same broader language family.

You shoukd Write a book Steven
En sevdiğin Türkçe kelime nedir?
Hi, I have a question, is it necessary to speak quickly in english or no?
Thanks for help me

Native speakers sometimes have difficulty understanding fast-talkers, so don't worry if you have trouble as well.
You don't have to speak fast even though I get confused in English as a native speaker by the fast talkers just talk at normal speed.
at what point in the video does he talk about "...setting the right goals" ? I missed it. Or did he miss it....?

what? were there instructions for how to set the right goal in this video? just sounded like rambling

Hey Steve,
Let’s in a podcast talk about one of the most richest language in the Middle East, Kurdish ❤️💛💚language
(kurmanji,sorani,Hawrami,zazaki)
I believe all languages are rich. I also believe that all people are entitled to their own homeland if that is what most of them desire. I would love to learn Kurdish one day. Curious to see how close it is to its cousin Persian.
