- Germany was represented by Michael Schulte with "You Let Me Walk Alone" in Lisbon. The performance received 340 points (204 from the jury and 136 from the televote) including the 12 points from Danish and Dutch televote and the juries of Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland, placing 4th in total.

@@jolina. this year's entry was great but the competition was just better. At least Jendrik reached the top 15 of televote in 12 countries, which makes him the most successful zero points entry in the 2021 televote.

That was a huge moment for my family and for me here in Germany .....after 5 years of sorrow - almost from every country came points. Best wishes goes to Poland, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Australia, Serbia and some others ....we will not forget that and maybe we get the chance to support you ♥

Thanks so much for cutting it together! This years esc has been such an emotional rollercoaster since I knew Michael Schulte before he got chosen to be our representer... but I‘m still so proud. ♥️ and I can’t wait to be on his concert next February.

Germany is back!
It was my favourite in the National Final and so so happy it represented us. The performance was amazing and it was finally an ESC, were it was great watching the voting. I already knew Michael before Eurovision and I always liked his music. He made us proud!

Wahrscheinlich, weil die Schweiz unsere Nachbarn sind. Nachbar-Voting wird oft ausgebuht. Obwohl Deutschland nie davon profitiert, außer wir schicken mal was Gutes ;)

A small question: why is Israel even in the list?! Like- it's not even an European country
Because its public broadcaster Kan is a full member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) (the organization which holds the ESC) and you don't need to be geographically in Europe to be allowed to join. The boundaries of eligibility are defined by latitude and longitude, and as long as you have territory within that you are eligible to register your broadcasters as full members. The five North African countries could also participate (Morocco did actually once in 1980) because their public broadcasters are members of the EBU.
