    Thank you for this video. I have ordered a Cricut and watching many videos to learn as much as I can. I am an elderly person that doesn't do social media but have family that can help me learn. I am excited to get started making things but also want to learn about the business side of things so I won't get myself in trouble. I hope I am doing this right.

    For a t-shirt company I would actually say go with both transfer paper and vinyl. Use vinyl for anything simple because if feels great. But anything more complicated than text or low detail, 1-2 colour images, go with heat transfer paper.

    @aadilenenene97 3 года назад +1

    I didn’t understand the copyright portion?

    • @TheThriftyChica
      @TheThriftyChica  3 года назад +1

      Hi! The big thing with starting a Cricut business is that the designs or (SVG cut files) that are used usually have a copyright attached to them. This means for commercial use of designs, it's expected you have to buy the designs in order to create and sell items with them. You'll see a lot of people design SVG files on places like Etsy for sale, or other commercial companies. Usually you are allowed to sell items with those images once you've paid for the licensing commercially. Cricut has a policy that if you are an Access member, you can produce up to 10,000 items per year for sale using their images. Since a Cricut Access membership is only $9.99 a month, it's a huge cost savings as a small business owner to use their library in your business rather than individually buying designs in other places. The only exception to the Access membership policy is that you can't use images that are licensed by major companies, such as Marvel, Disney, Warner Bros, etc to produce items for resale. The images from those companies are restricted to personal use only. Hopefully that makes more sense. Let me know if I need to clear anything up!

      You totally can. Both machines have different uses and some overlapping ones. I have different ones too that I use at the same time.

    Hello! Thank you for the information! I am having issues with pricing t-shirts and finding vinyl that doesn't come off the t-shirt after you wash it. Siser is really good but it comes off sometimes. Do you have any suggestions for quality T-shirts, iron on, and pricing? Thank you!

      I personally use an iron for all of my shirts. Any iron on vinyl can be used. I prefer the Siser brand for this.

      Hi! Here's a link to Cricut's information on selling items. On their website, their Angel policy states that you can use images in their library, except for licensed items (things like Sanrio, Martha Stewart, Disney, Marvel, etc.). You can create up to 10,000 finished items to sell each year and be okay to sell. Read through all the information here: cricut.com/legal#angel-policy Hope that helps!

    Hi! So if I pay for the access on cricut, I can sell those with no issue?

    • @TheThriftyChica
      @TheThriftyChica  3 года назад +2

      Hello! If you have a Cricut Access membership, Cricut's angel policy states that "The Angel Policy authorizes you to sell up to 10,000 completed projects annually (i.e., cards, scrapbook pages, finished cakes), using cuts made with Cricut products. It does not, however, authorize you to produce and sell individual, unassembled cuts using Cricut products (i.e., mass producing individually-cut letters or shapes to re-sell) nor to produce and sell items that incorporate licensed content." Here's a link to the information directly so you can ensure you're following their policy: cricut.com/legal#angel-policy I hope this helps! :-)
