I am 57 years old and for the last 56 years, I realized most of it has been a waste, because I was lazy and relied on pipe dreams! The last year, I finally realized what is important, God and then myself. Personally, I am most attracted by violin (can also be piano or another instrument) prodigies (a subcategory of musical prodigies if you want). Yes, they too will have to fight discomfort, but most of the time - if they are not overly pushed by their environment - much less than persons who are talented but not prodigies. Look at Himari Yoshimura for instance (for me the greatest violin prodigy of our time). Already at the age of 5, she could comfortably stand before an orchestra and play the most difficult (or cloes to) violin pieces. Yes, after that, she still had to grow and work a lot for sure, but she was given naturally a much bigger comfort zone. Which is good, but very exceptional.
