    If you are a real bus driver, which you obviously are, you’re actually very helpful and cool. I’m into aviation/planes and I hope I become a pilot when I’m older!

    How tempting is it to play the "Seats are available on the upper deck" or "no standing on the upper deck or stairs" announcements when driving a packed single decker bus? :P

    • @BristolRE

      Very tempting, I'm sure most us have done it at some point at least once!

      I do it all the time. I find it hilarious. So do half of the punters.

    Peter, what a treat! Why do you spoil us like this so much, lol. Can't wait until the time that you start doing driver cams and such. Thanks Peter.

    iBus transponder units were fitted on all London buses in 2009. Using GPS technology, this allowed TfL to know the exact location of each bus at all times. It also gave us the ability to provide bus priority at traffic signals (c. 1900 location

    i used to like the driver programmable destination blinds ( i used to put some, well, let's say not very polite ones on them ! ) This constant verbal outpouring would drive me crazy ! Bad enough with the px all sqaking away ! ( How come you use Bristol RE as your channel id ? i lived and drove buses there, but you are a Londoner by the sound of it )

    How often do you use the announcements?

    • @BristolRE
      @BristolRE  4 года назад +1

      The main ones like 'Holding to regulate the service' are used multiple times during a shift, the rest not very often. 'Diversion' and 'Terminates here' are the most common ones.

      No, the announcement that calls out the name of the stop comes automatically, as does 'This is a 121 to ***). Any other message is sent manually by the driver.

      I was at London Victoria coach station today as you know I don't take numbers or pictures and I came across some enthusiast taken numbers and taking photographs of buses it's quite interesting I wonder if you do the same take numbers of the vehicles that you are filming. I really don't know what to call myself am I one of you or am I some different or ODD. • @BristolRE
      @BristolRE  5 лет назад

      Full Spectrum No, just settings to change brightness or contrast of the screen, issue a transfer voucher or inspectors ticket and there is an option to print out the transactions from someone’s Oyster card if they say they put £10 on and not used it all day, it can show every transaction to prove where they spent it. Never gets used though.
