It is better this is done in all instruments like veena ,sitar,sarod etc so that it becomes an industry like sculpture.This can be brought under vishwa karma yojana of central govt. My heartfelt namaskarams to lalgudi trust for taking this noble intiative and compleatly involved in it.

Rather than tom-toming it, he has gone about it in his own quiet way, with as little publicity as possible and ensured that it has gained critical mass, so to say, before making and uploading this. We the family of string instrument players are greatly indebted to Mr Lalgudi G Krishnan for creating an environment to get our instruments repaired by expert luthiers who were trained by Mr James Wilmer. It is so astonishing to note even the quality of the instruments they have started manufacturing.I think this venture by the Lalgudi Trust should receive maximum support from the Central Government so that we can make inroads into other countries and be a strong contender even to China.
