The guy who made OTH, he was stalking and sexually harassing her for years So she had a hard time taking jobs that had her work alone with men and filming on location where she had to stay on her own. That's why she didn't make a career out of her talent.
I think to add on from what Saga said, is that she's pretty selective with jobs and also runs a couple of businesses (well, the farm and then Samuels sweets store). I also think since Jeffrey works away in Georgia a lot, she's kind of taken a back seat which is why she mostly just does the Lifetime movies and focuses on her kids.
She doesn't like LA so imagine that at times played a factor in parts she chose or wanted to fly to audition for. Plus all the above mentioned could have also. I wish her and Jensen and jareds familes all did a walking dead spin off. Or that couldnt be done a short mini saviors prequel series.

Hilary Burton is an amazing actress. I love her on Hallmark movies. Not at all big on her political stances, but, I try to give credit where credit is due. I see here that she has a natural, edgy, bold, beautiful energy! And, yet, when she plays a sensitive woman in love, I am just stunned, mouth open, in a trance, watching a living work of art...spellbound.

She & Chad both have been doing shows on the Hallmark channel. Actually, several of the cast from one tree, have done lifetime movies & Hallmark.
I think she is just much closer with the girls. And of the guys I think she is closer to Tyler, Antwon and Lee. But she does get along well with Chad and James.

Maybe someone will buy out One Tree Hills rights so non the former behind the scenes people have to be involved. I hate knowing now what all had occurred on that show. One Tree Hill used to be my favorite show....Sadly Hilarie Burton and Sophia Bush's constant complaining about their time on the show has destroyed the show for me. I can't even re-watch it on Hulu without thinking about all the drama.. :-(
I completely agree. I’d love to be able to differentiate the series itself and behind the scenes but every time a character has a storyline I always compare it to something that happened within the cast themselves
