    Hi MC, I just want to ask for an advice . I will be taking up nursing leadership and management in Seneca college this jan 2021. I'm also taking the NCLEX (new york) when I arrive there in Canada. In case I will pass the NCLEX, are u still going to advice me to take up the year 2? I also have a safe practice since I'm currently working as a staff nurse in a hospital here in the Philippines before I fly to Canada. 🙂
    Btw, Thanks for your videos. It's very informative 🙂

    Hi Miss MC! I am a fan of your channel and I have learned a lot from it. If I may ask are these the nursing programs that "guarantee" a "COMPARABLE" result from NNAS and CON? I mean programs that would eliminate the possibilities of being adviced to take anothr bridging course.
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    Amazing video. The only thing is IENs either applying in a different province or not fulfilling the 400 practice hours criteria, meet a dead end while watching this video. For example, I am still clueless if the 400 practice hours in Canada are comparable to 2600 hours/year of clinical practice back in one's home country. Can you please clear theses queries too? CNO is still easygoing compared to other provinces regulatory bodies.

    • @studyliveexploreca
      @studyliveexploreca  4 года назад +1

      Hello Amrit, I got confused on your question, This video is mainly for International Students who wants to get RN programs in Ontario. If you are getting your license in Ontario, the Rn programs mentioned on the video has a clinical hrs component, so they can renew the safe practice and get the Ontario license. Most provinces will require you to have 1560hrs/yr for the last 5 yrs (home country or Canada experience) to transfer the license to different Canadian province. I only suggest to practice on the province where you got your license and obtain 1560hrs to have the smooth transition and make sure you dont have any gap on your safe practice before moving. Different province here has different rule, Ontario has the lenient one so far.

    Aren't we suppose to complete this NNAS process while we are in our home country? Because NNAS will require information from where we have initially completed our 4 year bachelor degree in nursing, our parent licensing Council in home country and we will manually have to take these forms to these institutions and make sure they send our transcripts and everything to NNAS...

      Hi, thanks for your feedback! 😀
      Yes Nursing is competitive that is true. (But Nurses are still in high demand).
      If you have nursing or any related experience, that will help you to get in. Also attach a well written statement of why you want to study nursing with your application and your resume. etc.
      Some colleges like Northern Lights College and Keyano College seem a bit easier to get in, but still competitive.

    1. the NNAs requirements such as school credentials, registration and previous employments have to be submitted by the organization officials-is this still applicable or i can gather documents prior leaving Ph then submit it along with the 1 year CAD diploma?
    2. Is it ok if i just register the higher license which is RN only, or the RPN, RN adds value for future opportunities?
    Looking forward for more videos :)

    • @studyliveexploreca
      @studyliveexploreca  4 года назад

      The school and employer have to sign a NNAS form which you can get once you have registered in NNAS. However, your NNAS is only valid for a year, i think its gonna be tight if you register in NNAS before starting your Canadian program. It's recommended starting NNAS 3 months before you finish your first year in Canada, or otherwise, you will extend your NNAS for another year which will cost you around 180USD if I am not mistaken. :)

    • @studyliveexploreca

      Having Canadian RN license won't not only limit you to be a nurse in Canada. You can always go back home, and practice what you learned in Canada, after all, you still have you local license, but you have better understanding of evidenced based nursing here in Canada that could be used in your home country. Focus on the skillset not just the jurisdiction of your Canadian RN license. Hope its clear :)

    Hi Maam, I'm from Nepal. I'm working as a registered nurse in Nepal. I've got an advisory report stating that somewhat comparable(59%) and I've been eligible to write nclex. Could you please suggest me which course should I take in order to waive english language and to fulfill the competency gaps. Thanks in advance.

      Thank youn in advance.

    Hi! I am planning to apply for a 2 year post grad diploma in nursing such as the one from connestoga college (enhanced nursing practice for IENs). I'm wondering if I can apply to NNAS for RPN after completing the 1st year of the program so that I can work as an RPN after graduating? If yes, and let's say I am already working as an RPN during my PGWP, can I pass another application to NNAS to get my RN after getting my Canadian diploma from the enhanced nursing practice for IEN program I took?

      You have to check that with the school itself, its very specific but maybe they can do something.
      And check: www.nnas.ca/
      They asses and transfer international nursing degrees/ licenses etc to Canada.

      2. Can i apply to NNAS immediately as i start schooling?
      Yes - you have the option to start your NNAS now however, you wanted to include the canadian diploma to get higher equivalency, that is the whole point of studying again, getting the workpermit here and Rn equivalency.
