Draping a Midriff Waist Top-The Back

In this "Fashion School with Nick Verreos" video I will teach you how to drape the BACK of a Midriff Waist Top. This is one of the lessons from my new book, The Fundamentals of Fashion Draping. A midriff waist design features a bodice with a horizontal seam between the bust and the waistline. The back of the midriff waist top is simpler than the front, but can be modified with a "V" or "U" shaped back. But, in this lesson, I show you how to drape the most basic high-neck version that can be found in my book.

It's all so easy on a smooth, evenly proportioned dress form. Now if only real bodies didn't have all these pesky lumps and bumps 😆
