Pratik, thank you 🙏 Honest to god, you’re the voice this generation needs to hear because all those bogus college advice programs could never beat a preaching P vid 🤞 With the new year rolling around, I’m sure physical health is going to be a goal for a lot of hs students like me. Do you think you could make a video talking about fitting in physical health to a busy schedule? (E.g. when to find time for the gym, ways to stay healthy and still work hard, sleep habits, etc.)
Do you mind making a video on how to balance success with a mindset that is not toxically competitive? I am at a prestigious university too, and i find myself surrounded with people who want to gatekeep their successes because everyone is competing with each other for the final ranking. This kinda made me into a competitive person too, which is taking a toll on my mental health, especially when everyone in my circle are like that. Thank you so much!
You can connect with your colleagues in terms of friendship like hanging out and stuff, just dont really connect with them in terms of acedemics. I understand that feeling where you doing things unconsciously because of your environment . Connecting with people or watching social media where people kind of have the same mindset as the person you want to be , people who view life with a new perspective . It will reduce the impact of your environment on you and help you become the person you want to be.

I agree. Take a look at the top of the food chain (e.g., Head or Chief of X) at leading Hospitals in MA and NY. I have, and many top dogs neither went to an Ivy for undergrad nor an Ivy for med school.

Hey Pratik, I need a little help, so I just moved to Mass. and I am in my junior year, and at the moment I have 4 ap classes. Now I am worried about what to do for extracurriculars, I have been doing game development since 9th grade and want to make a channel where I make devlogs maybe, but I am really worried that most colleges at the ivy league level will not accept that, plus I won't have that many rec letters from my teachers here because I am new. I am still trying to figure it all out, thanks bro.
I'm in 2nd semester of senior year and feel kind of miserable for hardly taking advantage of extracurricular opportunities and advancing in them, and even though I'm already committing to college, I am still making most of the time I have to get involved in things like jobs, internships, grinding HOSA and science bowl, certification courses, track, and so on.
With that being said, I'm an AP student and obviously need honest time management tips so i can truly find success so i wanted to ask questions: how many total hours a week (preferably per day) outside of attending school should i be spending on school hw and whatever extracurriculars i am doing, should I be piling my schedule with extracurriculars with major events close to each other or should I do a lot of activities but allocate a specific month or so for a few (even summer months for some activities), and more importantly, how many hours a day or in what days a week would you say im allowed to dedicate to leisure time and sleep.
I know these questions may have obvious answers, but to avoid feeling misguided or doing the wrong thing and trying more than I have to be successful, I kind of need insights on these as I try to finish my last semester well.
Boy was that long, but I'd really appreciate any answer!
Pratik, I understand how you talk about a 93 being the same as a 99, but my county has a 4.3 unweighted scale. An A (93-97) is 4.0 and an A+ (98-100) is 4.3. the only concern is that if collegesjust proportionately scale the gpa from the 4.3 scale to the 4.0, it would lead to a decrease in my gpa compared to other counties, since the only way for my county to get a 4.0 scaled gpa is an A+ in every class. Should i take the A and more time for EC then the A+
How important are rec letters because I'm currently a junior and not really close to any of my teachers. I not really sure any of them really like me since I basically do the bare minimum to get a decent grade in their class and the couple of teachers that liked me were freshmen and sophmore teachers which I haven't spoken to since then. What should I do?

I would personally recommend biotechnology, bioinformatics, or just computer science with a minor in your science of choice. This could open the doors for jobs like climate analyst and medical coding.

One question I do have is: so I am someone who had a bad sophomore year due to a death of a family member. Thus, my sophomore year tanked my GPA, and I am sitting with a 4.8/5.0 UW & 5.6/6.0 W (could have been a lot higher - other people have higher GPAs). In this case, can ECs, SAT, Awards, etc bring you back from this?
isn't the max gpa 4.0?

You’re fine. You can tell colleges why ur grades may have dropped and if you have an upward trend they won’t mind. Focus on ecs

Hey I’m an IB student and my school doesn’t offers GPA’s nor expected grades. The college apps deadlines are around the corner so I was planning to only send my extracurriculars and then send my grades in July 💀. Also I want to send my SAT scores as soon as I have them but that will have to be after the deadline. (I’m an international student btw) Is that even possible to do in a college app? 😅

Hey Prateek! I'm a 9th grader from India. I've only recently discovered your channel and the whole aspect of getting into colleges abroad instead of staying in India. I've already wasted my freshman year. No community service done. No targeted extracurriculars (not to say that I don't have any, I have numerous golds and silvers but they are all at the city level). But, i atleast have one upside that I am quite good at python and webd (I wanna major in CS). I've approached local businesses to help them websites but none are interested. Nobody has trust in a random 14 year old out here. How'd I get out of this? What can I do in my sophomore year? Currently, I'm covering my academics for my sophomore year in advance so I don't have to do that much next year and I'm also learning machine learning which i hope will help me find research opportunities later. But the community service and competitions part of my stuff is lacking a bit too much. Help me.

@@codeosioJEE is the main exam for engineering colleges, yeah. Many private colleges also take their own exams and there are separate state based exams for getting into specific colleges.
you could try creating example websites to show so they have evidence of what you can do
