- Valak’s presence in the Conjuring movies isn’t only unsettling, but its distinctively gruesome appearance cements it, at least in my mind, as a visually striking antagonist. It appears as a pale-faced nun, which not only serves as its primary disguise in the movies, but also becomes an integral part of its horrifying presence. Normally, one might associate a nun with innocence, purity and or even safety, but with this design, the visual connotation of the nun is hijacked and replaced with something far more menacing and evil. With this hijacking, those who are devout not only lose one of their more pious symbols of the nun, but are secondarily attacked by it.

Great post. Let's remember that the Valak in the Conjuring movie series isn't the same as the one in the grimoire of lesser key of Solomon. Edward and Lorraine Warren never encountered him. What is true They dealt with issues of spirit boards, haunted objects, and general hauntings. I love your video ❤

I'm pretty positive that the boy Daniel is just Valak in disguise it's not actually the ghost of the little boy. Demons do this to fool people and get them swept up in emotion
His true form is probably much more horrifying. He appears as a young boy with wings as a mockery of the concept that young children with their innocence are protected by angels of God.

I think Valaks ability to find and bring serpents meant it can bring other demons ( serpents). Sometimes you have to call one demon to bring you another.
The Nun was a fun movie. The ending was confusing as heck, though. I'll probably end up seeing the sequel.

I don't know if either one of you are truly saved and I don't know exactly how long you have been saved either but I'll tell you this if you are saved, you should (at least eventually) not want to even watch horror movies anymore. It took me about 3 or 4 years to completely not want anything to do with horror movies, or anything to do with horror movies or shows! I had already gotten a distaste for the Halloween, and this was before I even found out the origins of Halloween and what it was really all about. The longer you walk with God and the closer that relationship becomes, two of the things that should happen that should let you know that you have truly been saved and are progressing in your spiritual walk with your Savior Jesus Christ is the secular things of this world will continue to leave a bad taste in your mouth. And that taste gets worse and worse. To the point that when you feel that guilty conviction in your heart it will start to affect you so intensely that it may even make you physically sick to your stomach! But when that happens don't be troubled. Be happy. Because it just means that you are growing stronger with the Holy Spirit inside you. Your spirit man is increasing in your life while your flesh man is decreasing in your life. When you get to this point in your relationship with God, you will rarely even care or think about the issues going on in this world so much. I mean you want to keep up with current events but you won't be troubled or consumed by these worldly matters anymore. The worse any man or woman can do to you in this realm is kill your flesh but God said for us to have no fear of anything or anyone but the Almighty Yahua who can take your flesh and take soul as well. Fear only Him! Anyway, sorry this was so long. God bless you all and keep your eyes on the great "I Am".

It’s not unusual for the film industry to take something relatively innocent and harmless and make it appear ghastly and horrific. They’ve done it with dolls and even birds in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds.

ALL American made movies like this one, will state in the beginning of the movie that it is "BASED" on real occurrences, obviously the key word is based. This makes it "honest" and leaves it open for the Director or whoever to put in what they want to. Probably 15% of the movie MIGHT be true.....

Okay, I'm not the sort to cry cultural insensitivity, but speaking as a Romanian I once again find my country used as a tool for cheap gimmicks. I like the Conjuring movies, and James Wan movies as a whole. But during the 1950s, Romania was still part of the USSR. So it's a shame we didn't get to see Soviet officers and Romanian Security Police caught in a bumbling and visceral failed attempt to contain the supernatural. Those American characters wouldn't have even been allowed in the country at that time in history. But, in all fairness, I should still see this film for the occult horror aspect alone.
