I went on this ship from Southampton around the mediterranean back in 2015, I think we were one of the first waves to actually sail on this ship for a holiday. It was great, I’d love to go through it again. Nice to see if it has changed much, doesn’t seem to have. Great video! I loved the surfing and the skydiving experiences. Crazy to do on a ship.

There is so much to see and explore in Europe (especially for those of us who live on the other side of the pond), that there is hardly time to enjoy the ship. And Caribbean experience is the exact opposite of that. Don't get me wrong, we equally enjoy both!

We personally find that with European cruises ship can be hard to enjoy: for those of us from North America, Europe is always about destinations with all the history they have to offer. Caribbean cruises are complete opposite: just the ship, fun on boardand beaches.
@@alex_irina Yes I know what you mean- 14 night cruise from Southampton only gets you as far a Italy in the Med!! You are so lucky to have the Caribbean not too far away. We love the 5 star treatment on-board these ships with No Shopping, No cooking and No clearing away on completion of dining. Shame Royal Caribbean ships/ship only here in UK May to November. Thank you, Gregory! The ship seems empty when in port (we filmed most of the walk through while docked in Sin Maarten). On a sea day it is rather busy, but never felt crowded (maybe except for the main pool, that place is a zoo any day).

I agree with much of what you covered in your video, and disagreed with a few others. The only thing that I feel obliged to single out is your assessment of the wait staff in the main dining rooms. We've sailed on the anthem twice, and have a 3rd trip coming up this winter. If I thought the staff was sub par in any way I would not sail multiple times on any ship. I think that the wait staff on the Anthem was friendly, attentive, and professional, and look forward to seeing them again.
@@alex_irina i found it was all in who your server was i ate in the main dinning most nights and first time wasn't so great but after that goat another waiter on 2 separate nights that was absolutely amazing explained every dish and really did a great job of giving us a good experience and remembered us even tho the nights were not consecutive
Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you! I use Adobe Premiere to edit videos, but would not recommend it: steep learning curve, expensive and not fun to use. There are quite a few video editing programs out there, I would spend a bit of time researching before committing to a specific package. Good luck and happy cruising!

Thank you, Robert! Glad you enjoyed the video! Most of the "empty ship" was filmed while in Sin Maarten. Yet to be honest ship has never felt particularly crowded. The only exception was the scene around formal dining venues: that was poorly managed and not worth the wait. Everywhere else crowds were less than we anticipated from this size of the ship. Probably mainly due to design: a lot of common areas well positioned all over the ship. Embarkation and disembarkation were both very well managed. Probably on par with Miami if not better.
We will be taking our honeymoon in this ship in December. First cruise ever. Hope we have a great time - sad to hear that there is no evening entertainment - we thought that there was dancing at least?
There absolutely is dancing every night: Music Hall had disco parties every night, but they were mainly for teenagers. However at The Boleros they did have phenomenal Latino themed parties with live music all the time. There are also parties and shows at the two-70 lounge at the back of the ship. I'm sure you will find plenty to enjoy: overall this is one of the best ships we have been on, RC just need to step up their party game! :)

On sea days it was indeed sometime hard to find a spot on a pool deck, but that was quite all right by us: they had enough things going on elsewhere!
Warning about Royal Caribbean's app which you can load onto your Iphone. During a recent cruise on on RC, I downloaded their app on my Iphone, I used it a couple of times to check my bills, schedules, etc. Once I returned home and wanted to delete their app, I noticed that their app automatically gave Royal Caribbean access to my Iphone's photos. This really alarms me. It's such an invasion of privacy and I don't recall giving Royal Caribbean permission to activate this feature on my Iphone. So if/when you download their app, be sure to deactivate this features to insure that some idiot or scammers aren't using your photos to their advantage
Did they make you do customs in Puerto Rico since it is US territory or just off and go with no customs till you were back in Jersey? Just wondering....
They had CBP on the pier, but we only had to show our passports to some private security folks, getting off and back on the boat was very quick, no typical formalities associated with entering Continental US
Word to the video narrator, next time you cruise,do a 7 day cruise to Bermuda. I would do a 7 day Bermuda cruise anytime,but not on a beast of a ship like Anthem,it's TOO big
Thank you, Matthew. We have been on several cruises prior to this one. May try one just to Bermuda some day. In general this ship did not feel overwhelming or too large to our taste (compared, say to Norwegian Epic -- that thing on European cruises is rather poorly managed)
My problem with most cruise lines is that there’s always so many kids and can’t tolerate children now that I’m older. If I could find a cruise that had less kids I would be on it.😉
Thanks for your comment, Kathmandu. I did want to clarify though that cruising in general and this cruise in particular was a lot of fun and overall an enjoyable experience. A few negative comments I have made were not there to completely write off cruising.
The folks at the Latin bolero were adequate at best. THey played the same music ever night and seemed like they are not passionate at all about the music they were playing.
Although the ship is beautiful we were very bored every night. No entertainment at the pool, no food after 9:00 except for pizza. We were in bed by 8 or 9 every night.

If it would not be for the Bolero Lounge (where we enjoyed live entertainment by Latino Quartet almost every night), we would have been _very_ disappointed, but these guys and gal made our nights! Music Hall, on the other hand, seemed to be specifically targeted to younger crowd, yet security (dressed like cops, that was the first we saw on the ship!) were id-checking everyone who was under 18 (or is it 21?), either way, that was a bit of a mess. Bottom line, for the ship with such a nice potential, they sure seem to need a lot of work on the entertainment side
