Don't worry king, practice is the best way to solve that. I'm trying to sing this too. Try listening to the original one but with the volume down so you could hear your own singing with Bill's on top of it. Sort of helps as well.

Can someone tell me how to improve my breathing, so that I can perform well the part that goes "I know, I know.." I just can't sing it complete without pausing singing for taking some air, and it's very frustrating!!
Sing it lying flat on your back a couple of times, it'll train your body how to breathe low and also try using less air or incorporate the breathing into it:)
i'm a smoker and i can sing that part with no problem. You must be dying bro. Hahah actually you're supposed to breath during singing just practice taking quick breath if you really need to.

I think there are 1 too many I knows in there -- kind of like the old sheet music that puts in chords that don't belong.. timing mistake by AI.
Just sing it how you feel it. This version races to the bridge -- it's timing is speed up... not exactly a great way to learn the song. But it helps to improvise.
The metronome, or foot-tapping, whichever it is, is not at all in the style of Bill Withers. Watch any video of him performing it with his band in 71 and keep a careful eye on the drummer with the goofy expression on his face...what he's doing, there's your time keeping (the key role of the drummer in the first place). The rest of the drumming is good, but on the whole it made me feel like I was listening to computer generated trax from the 1990s (Commodore Amiga music). If the title had just said "by Bill Withers" I wouldn't have had any issue with it, but it didn't...it said "in the style of Bill Withers."
This video is meant to be sung with. Who cares if the drumming isn't identical?

neither of you are correct. that sound is a person tapping the wood of his guitar when they're not playing a chord. you will see in any blues, or R&B bands, the guitar player keeps time as well as the drummer. Relying on the drummers came in when the white southerners took rock and it went north. Thats where it began. stop arguing, your all wrong.

That's because this is karaoke. The vocals are removed so that you can sing instead of the original singer. With karaoke you take the place of the lead vocal.
