The only hair dye I absolutely advise *against* is "Splat" brand (which isn't even a conditioning type). I was in a pharmacy waiting for my prescription and they sold Splat brand. I had never heard of it before, but I took a chance, because it was sold at Walgreens. "Splat" permanently damaged my hair and I had to wait another 5 years for it to grow back out and not be brittle and fried. "Splat" is the only hair dye that has ever damaged my very strong hair. I used to bleach my hair regularly to get it candy-colors and even bleach was not as bad as "Splat" brand dye.
@@priscillaseay977 There are no blue permanent dyes that are as vibrant as the semi-permanent ones. The only permanent dyes that are super vibrant are the orange, brown, and burgundy tones and a lime greenish yellow. It has to do with the shape and size of the color molecules and how they attach to the hair. It's not chemically possible thus far. The closest you can get to permanent blue is either using the blue tint of a permanent dye line (intended to be mixed with blondes and browns to reduce brassyness) or something like the Ion Permanent Brights in Sapphire with a volume 10 developer, but it's still not going to be as bright as the semi-permanent dyes. It will give you a muted blue at best. Doesn't even work on all hair types.

once hair is no longer connected to a blood source, ie a living follicle it is now dead. it "looks healthy" because the cuticle is in tact but it is no longer receiving nutrients and oxygen from the blood source. it will not grow, it will not repair any damage done to it.

If you use a few coats of hair spray on the lace (underneath) it will protect the lace.
I have very dark brown hip length hair (not a wig) and I dye it dark blue to get that comic book character black with blue undertone look.
