    Hi, found your channel and love it.
    I recently bought my first house and i would love start with this next year. For the door scene do you blackout the windows on the door, whats the material you are projecting onto, and how is that fastened?
    Im thinking of keeping the door open and having it projected from inside the house? Is that a dumb idea? Shift the projector to the side so light doesnt shine trough

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  Год назад

      Thanks for your support! In this video, I used some grey blackout curtains I had on had and draped them over the length of the door before closing it. My door is a stained wood so the projection would not show up very well if I projected directly onto it. If you have a white or lighter color painted front door, you may not have any issue using it as the projection surface.
      Do you have a glass storm door or something similar in place in front of your door?

    Can the image be flipped. I want to mount this to the wall at head of bed and point it at ceiling so I can watch laying down in bed but in order for this to work I would have to flip image on projector.

      I believe I got it either at Spirit Halloween or Home Depot a few years ago. It's the Gemmy short circuit light bulb.
      This isn't the same version I have (mine doesn't have the fake blood on it), but it's the only one I could find online:

    Have a question about the whole home FM transmitter 3.0 I saw you do a review on in a different video. Since it only broadcast 150 feet, is it ok to use a strong local stereo frequency number ( like you did 103.1 ) without it interrupting that radio stations signal? Or do you have to pick a frequency not being used? I can't get the FM transmitter I recently purchased ( reketress tr509 ) to work trying to use random frequency's.

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  2 года назад

      In my experience, completely okay! It will overpower an occupied frequency within the 150ft radius.

    • @stain0269
      @stain0269 2 года назад +1

      @@ToilandTroublesDIY So if I get this I can tune it to the frequency of one of the local station and since it only broadcast 150 it won't interfere with their broadcast? Basically it'll just broadcast my audio on my block? I ABSOLUTELY can't seem to figure out ( get it working ) the other transmitter I bought, I even bought an HDMI audio extractor/splitter to see if that was the issue but it wasn't. Figured out the AV port on my media player is output ( used ear phones to check ) but can't get everything to work together. The FM transmitter I have now actually causes the media player to mess up when I turn it on

      @ToilandTroublesDIY  2 года назад

      @@stain0269 That’s really frustrating. Sorry to hear you’re having no luck with it. Definitely recommend the whole house fm transmitter! To answer your question, yes, you can use it to tune to the frequency of a local station and it will override that frequency without issue for up to 150ft. If you use an unused frequency, you should be able to hear it for around 2 to 3 times that distance.

      @@ToilandTroublesDIY Thank you so much for the replies and help! Until this year I used just lights ( Twinkly ) and some props to decorate but I got introduced to digital decorating back in Jan and since purchased 3 projectors, 2 TV's and almost every effect AtmosFX has, lol. I run a 120 in screen and a sign I made in my garage opening with a receiver so plenty of sound there and just finished my project for this year ( a self contained projection system ) to be able to play effects on the side of my house. But I wanted to be able to broadcast the audio from the TV in my front window so people could tune in and hear that as well. I'll be ordering the whole house and hopefully I'll have better luck.
      BTW - I just purchased 2 of the reptile humidifiers I saw on one of your videos to add to my set up. You just gained another subscriber!! Thanks again!

    Thank you for sharing! Struggling to hone in on a good system to do vertical hollusions. Most projectors are too heavy to side mount on a tripod. Could you recommend a good system that would allow for side or vertical mounting?

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  Год назад

      Because space is not an issue, I use the Aaxa M7 mounted inside of my vertical projector housing which can be seen here: ruclips.net/video/LRWRk9M__zI/видео.html

    Cool video and very thorough. I have a question, would you say this is a better projector than the m1+ that AtmosFX sells on their website? I really want to try and create my own setup for this Halloween and have been losing my mind trying to find the best projector for under 500$ for displaying Atmosfx in my window. I really need something that has a very short throw.

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  Год назад +1

      Thank you and thanks for watching! The short answer is that it really depends on your needs. Things to consider: how big is your window? How bright do you need the projector to be? How far away do you need the projector to be?
      The Aaxa P400 definitely beats the Viewsonic M1+ in regards to brightness, throw distance, and resolution. I would check out projectorcentral.com to see what kind of throw distance you will need to fit your window. If you need something super bright, you may be better off going with a used short throw projector (optoma, epson, etc) with a higher lumen count. Although the P400 is only 400 LED lumens, it’s a great projector for the money considering all of its features.

    • @neo7759

      @@ToilandTroublesDIY Wow thank you so much for replying and providing so much information. I will definitely jump on that website and see what I can come up with, thanks again thats very helpful.
      My window is roughly 5 feet vertically and 6 feet wide. Ideally I would like to place the projector inside at the very max no more than 4-5 feet away from the window if possible. And then I will just put a Bluetooth speaker outside for sound. As far as brightness goes that is another thing I am debating, my street is a private lane and pretty dark so I wonder if a super bright projector might be too much? I have heard that with atmosFX its almost better to have one not as bright but I am not sure. Do you have a preference yourself?

    • @ToilandTroublesDIY
      @ToilandTroublesDIY  Год назад +1

      Of course, I try to help everyone out that I can.
      I would say it depends on the decoration you want to use. If its just something like boo crew or bone chillers with high contrast between the subject and background, if there is any, a super bright projector may not be something you need. However, if you want to run something like witching hour that has a lot of background information, I would recommend a projector on the brighter end. Example: I recently upgraded but ran an Optoma gt1080 at 2800 lumens for witching hour in my large ~5’x5’ window (plenty of videos on the channel that show this) for years and was very happy with that level of brightness.
