Hi, just found your channel by accident and I have to say, I am impressed. Impressed not only in your art but in your attitude towards it. I am in the UK and turn 73 this year, with mobility issues limiting how I can get out, I find myself relying more on photo references to work with. My art skills are poor and I easily get discouraged so I tend to try so many different media looking for that ‘magic fix’ which never comes. I have only watched a couple of your videos so far and instead of thinking ‘why can’t I do that’ I get a calmer feeling of ‘I should try that out, it looks fun’. Really getting a good feeling about your art philosophy so thank you so much and I will go back to the start of your channel and watch them all. You may have saved my art enjoyment 🙏
Wow, this comment makes my day. Thanks. I'm so glad it resonated for you. Making art and these videos can be a lot of fun. It's not always easy and I have a lot to learn but I keep plugging away at it because it is satisfying when I occasionally figure out some technique 😄 My next video is about drawing and painting from photos. I hope to finish it by the end of the month but have been saying that for a few months. Distractions get me sidetracked.
Oh, I'm so pleased there is a Flanders link through the poppies. I go there quite a lot from the UK, combining WW1 history, cycling and sketching. Re coloured pencils, I share your love of the process, and when Urban Sketching I often combine ink drawing with water-soluble coloured pencils. Just found your channel and am enjoying it very much. Thank you!
Just came across your channel. I was searching out Neon II watercolor artists. Bingo! What a delightful surprise. I subscribed immediately. And...I love your style. Have a good one. Keep drawing. Neon crayons...beautiful.
Another inspiring video from you! I am enjoying watching this while I have a late morning coffee and kick off a week of vacation :-) This may be the last 80+ day here so it’s time to fix a lunch and head out. I totally agree on the ability of art to connect us with other people. From international travelers in national parks, to local folks out for a walk with their kids, I have so many fun visits with people when out painting. It’s sad to think of a spot like that ending up as a pocket park in some giant housing development down the road, but people like you visiting there at least help officials know the place is appreciated for its beauty and needs to remain protected.

Where are you located? I thought poppies were illegal in the United States. Such a beautiful vibrant flower. This must be California
There are several varieties of Poppy flowers. I believe these are Oriental Poppy. Not to be confused with Opium Poppy.
