Yvette of all the portable ironing boards on video you have done the neatest job👍. Weirdly, most people think if it cannot be seen by anyone but yourself it is good enough. What can be seen by the creator, what is missing most, is pride of accomplishment. If anyone feels the need to create, they should at least do the best job they can, visually by all sides. You did! Kudos🥳

Just a tip on using your staple gun. When you shoot the staple into the wood it helps to have the base of the gun FLAT on the wood which gives leverage for the staple to be shot into the wood. If the gun is not anchored on a flat surface then the staple will not go all the way in. I have a very old and basic gun handed down from a carpenter and just used it to staple shade cloth on the outside of my carport for protection using about 2 thousand staples or close to that amount. Sometimes I couldn't get the back end of the stapler flat on the timber and ended up hammering those ones in but only when it wasn't anchored. Hope this helps but your hubby may have the answer anyway. Greeting from Australia and a 75 year old female quilter. Love all my carpentry tools and not ready to let them go just yet. 😊

Good demo! ❤ And don't feel bad...staple guns are my nemesis too, lol!
When I made mine, after attaching the padding and sturdy fabric, I made a snug fitting cotton slip cover to protect surface. (Slide it on like a pillow case). That way if I'm using starch, etc and it gets funky, it's easy to remove and launder without having to remove those dang staples. In fact, my ironing board is smaller, (about 18x24) so I can just use an old king size pillowcase. Anything to avoid the staple gun! 😊

@mjsews I just ordered a new staple gun. It was time for us to have a newer better model. xoxo

All the fabrics are cute. Also, thanks for turning down the volume when you were hammering - very thoughtful ❤
Keep up the great video work - I have been a sub since your stitch fix days and you have come a long way. I enjoy your videos.

Great idea Yvette and i love your fabric ❤. I've seen some people bolt it on top of a regular ironing board. We made a table form a Plywood sheet 4x8 and on one end i have a press station that is 2x4. It works great. Have fun at retreat ☺️ ❤ take care 🙂

Love the fabric and great tutorial! I was fortunate enough to get one from a quilter who was downsizing and moving. The cover can stand to be replaced. Mine is a simple muslin top. I will check out some canvas fabric. I need some to make bags with anyway 😉

Doesn’t vinyl melt when a hot iron touches it? I like the idea I would have my top be a wool long mat.
