Doesn’t a single snow layer melt in high light levels if not in a snowy biome?
So far they haven't melted in Serenity Fields! :D I duunoooooo..
Just checked the wiki. Snow melts if the block is at light level 12 or higher. Just don’t put a light source next to it!

I found out that you can put the a horse in a boat and it allows you to put them in small places so you don’t have to tie them to a pole!
