These are two of my favorite performance songs by BTS. My only complaint here is these mixtape makers for some reason seemed to switch scenes way more frequently than in other mixtapes and perhaps use too many different performances to make the tape. Most previous mixtapes I have seen had a remarkable seamlessness to scene switches making the mixtapes feel like actual performances. This for me diminished some of the joy of BTS's use of ad libs which are so important to these songs, particularly So What. Their selection of cuts seemed to be the narrative to the visuals putting the filmmaker front and center and BTS in my mind lost some of their genuity . And I have to say it was odd in Wings to tease for a second or two early at BTS singing while riding in balloons which was a truly a one of a kind moment, then never return to it. The filmmaker opted instead to repeatedly show BTS riding carts through the stadium crowd which is something Big Bang also had done without wings on the carts. Not sure what that choice was about. I guess that is why I prefer BTS lives to mixtape lives more often than not.
