I loveeee your food tours! I'm a bay area native and I'm constantly looking for new places to try. I've had the best food and boba because of you're recommendations! Thanks Alyssa!
This was such a nice surprise, I'm was born in San Francisco and grew up in San Jose. When i saw Japantown, you blew my mind. It brought back many memories, especially eating the greatest foods. I haven't been to some of the places you went, like the donut shop, but I will next time I'm there. I love in another state now and miss the food there so much. My mother is from Maui, so I miss the Portuguese donuts from there. Thanks for a great tour of the food.
I’m surprised you didn’t get the gigantic fresh strawberry mochi from Santo market. It’s one of their popular must get items when those gigantic strawberries are in season.
ahhh omigosh I clicked SOO fast! Love your videos so much!! Thank you for featuring so many of the amazing small/family owned businesses in San Jose esp SJ Japantown 🤩🤩
First of all thanks for showing MoDo, I showed it to my mom and ever since it’s been her favorite place. Also if you like slice of New York, definitely give bibos NY pizza in willow glen out, probably some of the best pizza I have had in the Bay Area
Retired, empty nester here...I raised my kids in San Jose, now living in Maui for a few months. After seeing your yummy video I can't wait to return home to San Jose and try these places!!!
Hi Mei Mei! I used to live in South Bay, I worked at Udon Mugizo in Mountain View! Highly recommend, their Mentai Cream Sauce is my favorite and also one of our top sellers! :) also if you haven’t tried Ume Tea in Cupertino, love their mochi milk tea, but all their teas are delicious! And their fried tofu & octopus are so addictive! Definitely order pick up online from there because they can be a little slow serving, but it was one of my favorite places to go💗
udon mugizo is sooo freaking good lol, one of my top udon places as a self proclaimed noodle connoisseur. it’s just so expensive there, but everything is expensive nowadays
it’s so funny to me as a Portuguese person to see a variation on our sweet and amazing “Pastéis de Nata”! they look nothing like ours and they probably don’t taste like ours, it’s funny to see what happens when other cultures do a take on our foods! id love to taste them one day! made me so happy and curious to try, i didn’t know bakeries outside of Portugal tried to make adaptations!!
WOW you picked all of my favorites that i found myself vigorously nodding at the screen at each spot 😂 only thing i'd add is somisomi i love the hojicha they have on rotation at the berryessa location rn!
Thank you so much for your food tour of San Jose! I lived here nearly my whole life (not going to say how long that is), but I think I've only been to maybe half the places you went to. Which were also great when I went. Everything looks so delicious, I can't wait to try some of these places out, especially those donuts 😍😋
Hi~ I'm from San Jose, I don't know if you've done a banh mi video yet. Would love it if you did and tried Duc Huong, Banh Mi Oven, and Yummee Sandwiches. Another good hawaiian poke spot is aloha fresh that's close to Santo Market. Please try Demiya! It has the best Japanese curry around! Also last one that's on my mind is Thien Long. The fish is a must have!
Thank you for making these videos! I recently discovered your account because I have really lost my appetite lately due to various life events. Turning on your videos to eat along with have been so helpful!
You both are so cute together ❤️ loove the recommendations. I've never been to San jose but I'm 3 hrs away now so I'll definitely be visiting these places!
Just ordered vegetarian banh chuon from Tay Ho thanks to this video! Love your channel! I just discovered it over the holidays! Your videos are always a highlight for me when you post them. Your joy and kindness always shine through!
Have you been to Tanto in Sunnyvale? Really good Japanese food! I love their tempura, yaki onigiri, garlic steak, black cod and to end it with their shingen ice cream mmmm one of my fav spots
Thank you for the modo hawaii recommentation! They looked so pretty I had to try them and each of the flavors we tried (passion fruit, cookies and cream, chocolate) were heaven!

That marg pizza from New York by the slice is my favorite by far. They also make the "green machine" which is also amazing and I highly recommend with the garlic knots.
You should do a video where you ask workers at bubble tea places to create the worst drink / topping combinations they can think of and then rate them (with mum) ! Love your vids :)
so glad to have found your channel! born and raised in San Jose and there are some places in here that I’ve never heard of and can’t wait to visit them! new subbie!! 🤍

I just bought a package of frozen Portuguese custard cups at Costco on Coleman! 😂

Banh cuon is one of my faves! Your pronunciation was great 🙂 My family likes to pour the fish sauce over the rice rolls for that extra soaked flavor
