- Directed by Anders Thomas Jensen, Riders of Justice follows recently-deployed Markus, who is forced to return home to his care for his teenage daughter after his wife is killed in a tragic train accident.
But when a survivor of the wrecked train surfaces claiming foul play, Markus begins to suspect his wife was murdered and embarks on a mission to find those responsible.
Mads Mikkelsen, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Andrea Heick Gadeberg, Lars Brygmann, Nicolas Bro, Gustav Lindh and Roland Møller star.
Magnet Releasing will open the film in NY & LA Theaters on May 14, 2021. It will be available everywhere May 21, 2021.

The trailer might lead you to believe it's just another revenge flick, but it's a really unique dark comedy filled with hilariously bizarre moments. Really worth checking out.
It's in no way an "unique" dark comedy. It's what the director is known for.
In China They Eat Dogs, Flickering Lights, Old Men In New Cars, The Green Butchers, Adam's Apples, The Sun King, Clash of Egos... And many more... Also often using these nothing-endings.

This movie asks those questions without ever actually stating the questions. Action, comic relief, and deep, heartfelt drama. This movie is a masterpiece, and quite simply, one of the greatest movies I've ever seen.
The writer ( director) is the one to thank
The man is an incredible actor and a very kind and humble person. Met him years back when he was working on Hannibal here in Toronto. He's the kind of actor that always elevates any film he's in.

@Rikke Stellini it’s not the first Anders Thomas Jensen movie he has done. The one that’s most like this one is “Flickering Lights”. But he is only type cast in Hollywood as a villain, in Danish movies he plays everything. It’s definitely worth checking out the movies he has done with Thomas Vinterberg as well

Best way to describe this film is to say it's not what you expect. It's not comedy... not a thriller.. not action.. not drama.. but is jnstead a unique style that touches on all of these things without becoming them. I'd actually say the film is about emotional healing if anything.
Everything Mads touches is gold. He will be in the next expendables for sure.

Mads has an incredible presence on screen. In the beinning of "another round" he plays a nondescript loser, then he step by step takes over the screen. Not many people can do that.

The director is locally famous for this style of story telling and dark humor. He has done a bunch of other great danish films, in the same style, also with Mads.
One of the cooles films I`ve seen in quite a while. Very funny, exiting with cool stuff. Strongly recommend it

This trailer just singlehandedly restored my shattered faith in movies. Lane from Canada.
Weirdly enough this trailer is actually quite bad. It is made with international viewers in mind and is portrayed as an action movie, but it is much more a dark comedy. If you know the director and the cast he typically uses, you would immediately recognize that is one of the famous Danish dark comedies, but if you don't you might get the wrong impression.
From now on this would be a must see for me, the trailer is thriling and Mikkelsen's bad guy look is terrific.

What made him great in Casino Royale was actually how he was everything regular Bond vilain are not. He was just a desperate guy who was fighting for his own life. Not strong, not confident, but a coward and terrified man.

The plot is quite improbable but damn the action (violence!), the twist, the introspection, the empathy and the comedy involved is riveting. A must-see!
