It is hard to hear others copying the Jamaican Patois. I don't care much for the term "cultural appropriation" but it does apply with this distinctive style of speech. I admit I like to imitate it when alone with my rabbits for example but would feel rude doing it publically. I see how that "Backpacking Simon" dude does this himself and it is the main reason I can;t stand his videos of Jamaica. I respect Mathew for not falling for this.

What I miss about the Caribbean (when I lived there for a year) is the spontaneous things that I experience. I go to Maracas by bus, cute family invited me to lime with them on the beach, next thing, I am in a maxi taxi on route to Port of Spain for a lime at LookOut Point and I get a drop in the Croisee from them..good food, good laughs..good drinks lol...Shannel is a lovely young lady and that goat! lol
