Samuel Bear was my GGGG-Grandfather. He managed to peacefully live with the Cayuaga nation. It saddens me to see a statue erected to commerate the "Expediton against the Hostile Indian Nations". I wonder why they were 'hostile'? Because they were driven off the land they had lived on for probably thousands of year??
