Thank you for covering a topic that very few artists cover! If you do a continuation of these ‘cast shadow’ videos, can you please make a video on figuring out the ‘cast shadow’ of *organic forms,* such as the *human figure* or an *animal?*
Your tutorials are the best! Very helpful and technical. I'm soo glad I found your channel. I'll be tuning in for more vids to help myself in my course, architecture :))
Voavh thanks for this tutorial! We were taught shadows of some basic shapes like cube, cone, etc. but I wasn't sure about other shapes 👌✨ PS: WATCHING UR VIDEOS IS MAKING ME TAKE ARCHITECTURE AS MY CAREER 🤭 (but I need to score good marks in entrance exam) 🤞
Hi, this is really helpful! I have tried it out and actually found that there is something missing in the 1st drawing. I think the box on top should have casted a shadow on the box underneath, what do you think?
The direction of the light would need to be less above the object so it could be noticeable(For example when the sun is going down or in the morning) You can still see a bit of it in is example if you look carefully
i have to do this for a drawing, my queston is, wouldn't the uper body project some shadow on the lower body on the light side? since the light comes form above? if so, how can i find that shadow?
+pixl3l hi, it is a choice, I asume this is the point where the spheres touches the ground, this can be different depending the point of view from the observer. But for propose of simplifying method with this is ok.
+Kay Tan Productions hi Kay, yes, they are diferrent, I will produce another tutorial narrated so you can listen to the directions, I am not an English native speaker but I will try to do it for sure. Thanks for your comment.
I will do it on my next videos, english is not my native language but just as you noticed I think that some verbal explanations may help to get a better undestanding, thanks for the copmment.
Brilliant, never seen something like this so simple and efficient for these visual explanations of cast shadows. Thanks a lot Mr Ariel !
You are welcome!
it makes painting becoming maths!! thanks a lot. it has made my mind clear!
I have no idea what good this is with no explanation
Very clear and useful. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide this material.

Hi, this is really helpful! I have tried it out and actually found that there is something missing in the 1st drawing. I think the box on top should have casted a shadow on the box underneath, what do you think?
very good. Tank you.
Regarding the first object - wouldn't there be another shadow on the pillar cast from the platform?
certainly!
Thank you, I'm really trying to figure this stuff out :-D

Yeah! That's awesome too.

on the first example i mean
wow.. great, thank you
it would be nice if you can show us the shadow that cast from the top cube over the bottom cube. Thanks anyway, great video.
sure, I will make other tutorial videos about shadows. thanks for your comment
I was wondering on how to know where to put shadows on the human body.
Would you some how use this same method but in a modified way, somehow...?
On the sphere you make a a dot for the ground plane, where it contacts the ground. Is this just a choise or is there a reason why it ends up there?
+pixl3l hi, it is a choice, I asume this is the point where the spheres touches the ground, this can be different depending the point of view from the observer. But for propose of simplifying method with this is ok.
Allright, thank :)
Starting to get a hang of these spheres now.
@@arielbrindissketch This make me confused a whole night, thanks a lot!

+JS 86 you are welcome! Keep watching!
.. Subscribed. ;)
Good
Amazing!
You do know some theory, no joke.
disculpa, pero en la primer figura, la figura cuadrada no proyectaria una sombra en la columna?

Perfect!

It is really hard for me to learn if you aren't speaking... I'm not a native speaker. Light angle and light direction... they are different????
