New to GBL, just started using this team a few days ago after I found a good IV Swampert. Found this video, and it is quite validating to see my team used to success in higher ranks than me. I've gotta work on some gameplay before I get there, but at least I know it isn't my team holding me back.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Swampert and Skarmory are such a strong duo, sticking with one team and really mastering it is also a really big part to learning GBL. Good luck on your climb! 😄
Depends a bit on your ELO, but generally speaking, doesn’t really matter. Ape is an interesting case though, because high attack on ape can be quite useful. My best most tryhard Ape is like 8 attack, 14 def, and 1 hp or something like that. The high attack helps for some counter breakpoints and the really common CMP ties with other apes. Low attack ape is of course good for the bulk as well. Generally speaking, any ape you can find should do ya just fine, it’s much more about how you play it than the IVs!
Glad you like the video! I’ve considered doing a “live” commentary episode which would be heavily focused on my counting and tracking of moves since that’s what I’m thinking in the moment of the battles. I wonder if folks would be interested in that 🤔

Cool team and awesome video. Enjoy the way you explain the team comp and highlight core breakers, subbed!
