Les Menuires sits at an altitude of 1,850 meters, located in the 3 Valley Ski Area of the
French Alps.
In this video, we will show you the most important things that you need to know before
booking a vacation in Les Menuires.
And if you stay until the end of the video, you will get some great tips that will help you
to make better decisions and save money!
The closest airports to Les Menuires are Chambery, Lyon And Geneve, with transfer
times of 1 hour and 45 minutes, 2 and a half hours, and 3 hours, respectively.
Les Menuires has the largest ski pass from all the resorts in the 3 Valley Area with 160
kilometres of connected runs.
The excellent connections of Les Menuires to the rest of 3 Valleys is better than Val
Thorens and Courchevel!
The Village of Les Menuires is huge, and actually, separated into 5 residential quarters:
Preyerand, La Cruisette, Les Fontanettes, Grand Reberty and Les Bruyeres.
Each quarter has its own shopping center with all the services you would usually need.
In Les Bruyeres and La Cruisette you have indoor public pools.
La Cruisette is the center of the whole resort and features a huge gallery.
It Is very convenient, especially in the colds of the winter, but can be a bit
claustrophobic.
When in La Cruisette, you can really see the vision of the future from a 1960s
perspective, when Les Menuires was planed, taking you right back to scenes of an old
science fiction movies.
La Cruisette is connected with gondola lifts to the quarters of Preyerand and Les Fontanettes.
On top of this, the 5 quarters are connected with free shuttles that run up until 11:30pm.
BecauseLes Menuires is located on a slope, most of the hotels and apartments are ski
in ski out, or almost ski in ski out.
The resort itself actually sits across an altitude range of between 1,600 and 2,000
metres - that’s how vast it is!
if you’re looking to visit the one of the best, if not the best Apres Ski bars in the world -
the Foley Douce in Val Thorens, you don’t need to shell out the extra cash for a 3
Valleys Ski Pass.
After the party, ski on Plain Sud run and then continue via Val Thorens to Boulevard
Cuminn run until you arrive at the Doron lift, which will take you to a point from where
you can ski to just about anywhere in Les Menuires.
Take note that the Doron lift closes at 04:50PM until the beginning of February and at
05:20PM, from February.
For the party animals watching, unfortunately you’re out of luck if you expect a night life
or real apre ski scene in Les Menuires, as the resort is very much family oriented.
Les Menuires has many winter activities, and has a special rail toboggan named
Speed Mountain, in Les Bruyeres.
To conclude, here’s our numbers for Les Menuires:
These ratings are based on a trip including the 3 Valleys Ski Pass
For Snowboarders: 9
Advanced skiers: also 9
Intermediates skiers: 9
For Beginners: it’s an 8
Freestylers: 8
For Free riders: a perfect 10
Night life: 6
Apres ski: 9 (because of the access to Foley Douce)
Resort charm: 7
Giving a final resort score of: 8.9
please reply with the name of the ski resort you want us to review next
La Masse is a hidden gem in the 3Valley, relatively quiet as most people miss dropping into Les Menuire on their way to VT...
great snow for mid April
Nice, useful video, thanks. Got to work on pronouncing those French place names though!!
I can recommend Sport Flash ski/snow shop on la croisette Les Menuires near ESF school. They repair everything and guys are just so cool, they know their job!
Another season of travelers check videos are here 😁
Les Menuires this Christmas 🎄💪🏻
I went on all the types of runs except black, I went in January 2018 with my school and this video brings back memories, I can't believe it's been 2 years already doesn't feel like it
thanks so much, s cro

I've have stayed at chalets in Meribel and Courchevel and Les Bruyeres was the better place by far. A bit quieter in the evenings but we stayed in our chalet with our group anyway so really didnt notice. The skiing is great and the ski in/ski out means no buses or getting changed in the town centre.
great tips! specially the one on Doron lift
I worked 3 seasons in Reberty, just above Les Menuires. Can’t recommend the place enough. You can ski from the morning all over the three valleys, apres in Val Thoren and still make it to the top for the last run home. La masse is also great for off piste.
Thanks for the tips!
Been their loads much cheapness but access to the awesomeness that is the Trois V's
I loved skiing down in to Saint Martin de Belleville and getting a hot chocolate in the cafe at the bottom.
Great place to ski 100% recommend
the scores also take in account the prices.
for example, Les Menuires is a great resort for beginners, but a group of begginers can go to a smaller cheaper resort and enjoy as much, because they won't realy enjoy the potential of 3 valleys
welcome back, love your channel :)
thanks so much, Harry

Are there any `Car Camping Aires` in the resort?
is there any bus connection or something between this and val thorens? just if we stay in val thorens to have a bit party or have some good food, can we can home to les menuires in a shoe?
Hi, I would really appreciate an ahswer, if you don't mind 🙂
Is there a high snow chance in January, in the second half? And around what time of the year is there the most snow? Thank-you!
sorry for the late reply. Les Menuires is quite sure on the second half of January. i think that the end of February usually is the best time there regarding the snow but the first week of February is great and cheaper to stay because it is before the vacance. the video was shot at April 15!!
Another's amazing video
thanks so much, lets gett ii ehhaha

Already i will love so much one in canada i now de dont have tes best Montaigne but i am from there and i will realy like a video from you whit the montagne you can find in my country
Niiiiicccee!
@travelers check ; thanks for your Vid ! You tell nearly everything i need to know. But there are three questions i have regarding this area. Please tell me , is it really possible to get from Les Menuires to Val thorens to La volie douce without buying the upgrade on the 3 valees pass ? (because on the end of the vid you said , all infos based on the 3 valees skipass) . Second question is : if we miss the doron lift, are there no shuttle buses like u said in the beginning which will drive until 11pm between the areas in les menuires ? Third question: is there really no single Club to dance in les Menuires ? Best regards , u do a great Job , please continue.
Dear Jans,
thanks from the heart
for your questions:
1. you don't need the 3 valleys skipass to get to the folie douce and back
2. there are shuttles if you miss the Doron lift but you have to wait a bit and depended where you live, some places you will have to walk a little bit
3. there are some bars with Music there. if you want to have great clubs and dancing, a good idea is to take a cub to Val Thorens, 15 minutes ride from Les Menuires
best value for money for families in 3 valleys
I would love to go back •́ ‿ ,•̀
1:46 thats the hotel i stay at!
Same😂 I loved skiing up that slope to get up quicker
What is the best budget hotel to stay in?
hi Christiaan,
I don't know, but my best bet is to see the 3 stars hotel with the best score in Google, trip advisor and booking.
you know, that the cheapest way there is to rent apartment, there's lots of ski in- out residents there, and many supermarkets
I see my appartement
Please do Aprica, Italy
why particularly Aprica?
Because it's a relatively large resort that seems to be family friendly. The vertical drop is over a kilometer, which means it's about the same as Hemsedal in Norway, where I went once and found it HUGE, if a bit cold.About five families from my workplace will be going there at half-term in February, and as your reviews are really very instructive, I was hoping you might do this one. I wasn't even sure you take requests.Another useful review might be a general US versus EU. If you listen to the Americans, not wise but still, they downrate EU resorts in favour of their own; from what I can see the food is crap and the prices are astronomical compared to the EU, not to mention the vertical drops are smaller. Disinterested reviews and comparisons are hard to find.
@@chrisherne6454 i agree about the observation regarding the EU- US. only next winter i plan to do reviews on American resorts and after that comparison etc'
regarding Aprica i afraid i won't have the time to film there in the coming winter, but i will make the effort, any way the video won't be upload before your vacation. let's hear from you your impressions from Aprica
Chris Herne As an American skier who has skied in the Alps I can concur with your assessment however two things the US (and Canada) has over the EU is much better snow conditions (usually) and US/Canadian resorts are less crowded. The food quality is about the same once you leave the mountain. The locals are also generally friendly and welcoming to visitors. But don’t discuss politics in the current climate. These comments only apply to western US and Canadian resorts. Ski resorts in the eastern US and Canada are not that good (bone chilling cold and icy slopes). Both the EU and western US/Canada have their advantages and both are worth visiting.
Will do. Look out for it in March. Where should I send it?
Who shoots these videos?
us. why? some shiny happy people
travelers check I love them! Curious what your camera setups are!
French holiday season encompasses kids' half-term holiday so basically we are f***ed
the traffic jams are only at Saturdays, but the best is to come before or after the vacanse
This video is shorter than others
thanks so much, Sihong, good observation

Not qualified to comment about it. i know nothing about it.
Terrible resort. Inconvenient location. Don’t try to do Le Trois Vallees ‘on the cheap’. Do it justice.
Hi Mark, We did reviews on Val Thorens and Courchevel as well, and you'll be happy to hear that we plan to upload the Meribel review in this coming winter ( Nov-Feb), probably in December
Appalling pronunciation
Terrible pronunciation
I agree David,😬
I switched now to google text to speech and it's pronouncing the local names better than this Fiver voice over artist. no budget😔❤
