    I refuse to watch anything that ends with the sequel trilogy. Kathleen and Bob ruined the magic of the franchise.

      They somehow managed to literally suck the force out of the Star Wars universe 😂. There is nothing to gain from watching the sequels or many of the shows.
      How did you feel about the Prequels?

    • @nathank2289

      @@holdmydualshock Jar Jar was stupid but forgettable. midichlorians completely ruined the background of the Force but with some work that can be fixed (unlike hyperspace ramming or force healing without training). Vader killing children was a bad addition to the canon. Basically ignore the Phantom Menace and the children's room in Revenge and the prequels are fine.

    Its just so sad how much Skeleton Crew flopped bc of bad marketing and Acolyte, it feels unfair considering the amount of talent and love put into it. To me, it proves that we need more shows away from the main 6 movies and core characters, bc it had amazing and interesting characters, cute interactions and funny dialogue.
    Saldy in the end, its paying the sins of the other bad shows that came before

    Disney definitely ruined Star Wars the moment they rejected sticking with the Expanded Universe after buying Lucasfilm from George Lucas himself. Clearly, what Blackrock and Vanguard got to gain from having their puppets keep doubling down on brand damage is just going to put the entertainment industry in more jeopardy.

    • @holdmydualshock

      This is very true. Sadly it doesn't seem like any course correction will be able to save this IP as long as Disney owns it.

      The entertainment industry is NEVER EVER EVER in Jeopardy... before movie studios even existed theyre were sold out plays before Shakespeare there was symphony and opera...even the cavemen told stories around the campfire to entertain each other... Disney is still doing well although they're have hurt the Star Wars brand with so many big failures at a time when people have lots of entertainment options...They haven't RUINED anything...Star Wars is still a cash cow... making hundred and hundreds of millions a year off of an IP is still fantastic for these companies even if it's less than hundreds of billions... Youre right THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN LEANING INTO THE EU instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. Something JRR Martin talked about...That being said they could start making a Bane Trilogy... TOMORROW....and itd be awesome and I guarantee people would watch it...Theyre ONE good film away from making this doom casting BS seem like idiotic click bait...which hey they got us both apparently

    • @ChrisSmith-tu9bu
      @ChrisSmith-tu9bu 12 дней назад

      @@holdmydualshockthey just need to move on...SHE needs to gracefully bow out.... UNFORTUNATELY I think she wants ONE big hit before she leaves because of her ego... she might have too much power and Disney can't move on from her and they understandaly initially hesitated because Kennedy has been good in Hollywood for a long time before her recent struggles...but it's LONG overdue... Even HOF coaches arent a fit for every team and she has had too many giant strikeouts. In fact they could probably do better than Feloni as well. Honestly they should have kept the D and D brothers... They're AMAZING at adapting pre-existed stories They got screwed because of JRR Martin not finishing his books years and years later after hed promised and been paid to do so but they ARE phenomenal about bringing books to life.

    First I have not watched Skeleton Crew as I joined the ranks of fans who moved to Apathy. Actual fans will fill their rooms with everything connected to their beloved IP's and yet these so called creatives, especially Kathleen Kennedy can't help themselves but destroy the original characters to self insert, gender/race swap or push some agenda. They then demand that, that love and devotion be transferred to their characters and stories without building any type of connection. When that doesn't happen they then attack the fans. The arrogance, entitlement, narcissism, complete lack of awareness is truly stunning.
    These people have turned the phrase "bite the hand that feeds you" into an artform. A heavy handed, blunt artform but an artform none the less.

    • @holdmydualshock
      @holdmydualshock  8 дней назад

      1000%, most of the original SW fans have become apathetic to the brand. But the systematic destruction of characters and lore has become egregious. Just because you add a person to the SW franchise doesnt mean everyone will inherently like said person. You have to build them up, gender and race dont constitute development for characters.
      Like the MCU, they expect you to care about every character by proxy. We have witnessed the fall of star wars, and at this point I dont know what they could do to save it besides selling or only adapting the EU by the book.
      What do you think, what could save SW? - peter

    • @andrewwatts2443
      @andrewwatts2443 7 дней назад

       @holdmydualshock I don't think you can save the current Star Wars. They would have to shelve the entire thing for a minimum of 4 years as the damage to the original characters and the lore is too extensive. They would need to then erase everything they have released WITHOUT EXCEPTION, even things like Andor, rogue one and the mandalorian (the good, better stuff) because it's all tainted. All of it will need to end and never be mentioned about, expanded in any way, shape or form.
      They would then need to go back to George Lucas's version and vision. Bring in all new writers, directors and producers. NO KATHLEEN KENNEDY. They would need to find a best selling novel or comic, find a director and writer who is a genuine fan of the material and bring something beloved to the screen in a movie that sticks to the lore, characters and universe. Keep out all the girl bosses and politics and focus on world building, character development (no jumping straight in) and the adapted story. Once it's nearly finished get in some genuine fans like Star Wars Theory and youtube movie critics like yourselves, Critical Drinker etc and get their opinions. Then take onboard any criticism, adjust accordingly until you have a fully fleshed out, polished product. Then make some quality trailers not showing all the action, train the cast (no narcissists) to ONLY talk about the lore and the movie, under no circumstances mention themselves, politics or how they are saving lives and changing the world.
      EVEN if they do all that their best hope should be JUST to win some favour and interest and not a box office smash making a billion. They need to earn back the good will first and that will only come with 1 REALLY good movie and then follow up with 1 REALLY good mini series. Then and only then will they get the trust to take one (once again) this much beloved IP.

    I for one don't care to see a single EU or main saga character in any future project. I think we have seen enough of the main characters, for some we've seen waaaaaaay too much (I'm sick of Ahsoka being in every show). When it comes to EU character we already have perfectly good stories for them in other mediums. And to the fans who say "well this from the EU could be adapted" "this could be cool" "I hope my favourite character shows up", do you really want Disney to make their version of your beloved storyline/character? Wasn't what they've done with Heir to the Empire enough?

Same with GOT....Shoot same way with even shows like Friends and Seinfeld...Word of mouth is slow but quality lasts...Those are three of the best television shows ever made and even they took a couple seasons to catch on.
