@@toweringtbr I'm not usually keen on war-set books in general but of course this was wonderful! I think the non-linear way of telling the story is really effective.
So happy to have you joining us for the readathon! Her Majesty's Royal Coven has been one I'm dying to pick up because everyone seems to say great things about it - hope you enjoy it!
I'm thrilled to participate! Thanks for running it again this year. I know it takes a lot of work. Getting more excited for HMRC with you and Chattie talking it up.
Ooooooo Friday Black! Loved that short story collection. I definitely liked 1984 more than Brave New World (lol, maybe that doesn't say much). I enjoyed The Collected Schizophrenias as well but definitely hard to read at times! My goal in May is to... catch up on read the world project. Which I think I say is my goal every other month
I'm excited for Friday Black but hope its not too depressing. 1984, the last line in the book is so chilling. I'm glad you liked The Collected Schizophrenias. I've wanted to read it for several years but the timing never felt right. Which countries are you aiming to read for in May?
I’m a spoonie with a few chronic illnesses I’ve been in a major flare (pain for the last two weeks) I will not be participating in the Spoonie readathon. Awesome video Great Tbr….. Hope your May is awesome and you complete all your goals.
🥄🥄🥄 I am so excited for Keedie 😃 not sure my other plans going to do my TBR tomorrow. The schizophrenia esseys sound really interesting, but ibv don't read if it's a bad day! Hope you didn't use up too many spoons today. But the video is appreciated. Can't wait to hear your HMRC thoughts too 😃💜📚
I am pretty sure I want to read every one of the books you talked about 😅 I have read Friday Black, loved it, very black mirror-esque. The first story is probably the most difficult I think but also probably my favorite. Also read the A collected Schizophrenics last year I think and it was great, not at all what I expected, much more about how she lives with it and how people react I think than the usual sort of extreme stories about schizophrenia.
The Night Watch is so good! 😁
Great to hear! I don't typically read books set during WW2 but I trust her to tell a well layered story. Plus the nonlinear style appeals to me.

Thanks. HMRC keeps getting more hype. I think it'll be one of the first ones I prioritize. What book are you planning to read first?
Ooooh excited! 😃
I'm glad!
Thanks so much for doing our Readathon and being so supportive. Good luck with all your books and take care 😊 I loved her majesty’s royal coven

4:16 Whoop! Although i also want to read Greenbone Saga! But prob nkt this year...future buddy read? 💜📚
I heard its emotionally wracking but yes...I want to see if all the hype is worth it. Don't you own books 2 and 3?
@toweringtbr I do! Great Memory - so yeah need to get my hands on book 1 😆💜📚

A fellow Spoonie! Nice to meet you. Sorry you're having a flare. They're just the worst! Thank you for your kind words. What have you been reading?

Me too! I'm curious to see what you'll choose.
Excited for HMRC. Don't really know what its about but have heard great things!
@@toweringtbr Best way to read it 😃💜📚
This looks like a good tbr I didn't know there was a retelling of 1984 so will need to check that out
It's been getting some good buzz recently. I hope you enjoy it!

Wow, that's awesome! I loved Chain-Gang All Stars so I'm hoping to love his short stories. What are you planning on reading in May?
I didn't know the Spoonies Readathon was happening. I participated last year but won't be able to this round. I hope your reads go well.
I think Emily was on the fence for awhile but I'm glad she's hosting it again. Bummer you can't participate. What are you planning on reading in May?
