How is it that even little guys like this one ALL know how to raise their arms to avoid being held, and drop thru the slide they create! Born instincts, I guess, 'cause they ALL do it! Love this very special life event...thanks for sharing your family moment with us! God bless each of you!
His reaction to the plain chicken broth was awesome! My boys were all large newborns, and as I learned how to make baby food (and became more comfortable with making it), by the time I had my last one I felt like a pro at feeding them. LOL With the youngest being 15 now and the oldest at 29, the infant feeding reccomendations seem to have changed a lot. The one thing that seemed to stay the same is breastfed is best as long as possible, hopefully at least for the first year. One thing I really enjoyed was juicing individual vegetables (like carrots or sweet potatoes), then coking the pulp in about half of the juice until the pulp was soft for them. After they had tried at least two vegetables, then we would try a fruit. They always liked fruit better, so I was very careful to not feed only what they liked best. By the time they were moving up to being able to chew some foods, I was able to just mash or dice up whatever the family was eating to serve the babies. I never tried broth with the little ones, but will when I have grandchildren!
Aww this was so precious. Thank you for sharing. Mine are grown, married, and kids of their own. This warmed my old Nannie heart. Ty. God bless you all. ~Lisa
💚 Yay for the liquid gold, chicken broth! Looked like he ate a lemon with that face 😅. Seeing that baby chick really made him smile..he's on the move now, crawling and standing up holding furniture. 💚
Thank you for the little update on Hezekiah! His facial expressions while eating his first people foods were priceless! It's sad that pediatricians recommend all the wrong stuff for babies first solid foods. No wonder so many people grow up with gastric issues...all by design.
Hezekiah you are growing so fast! It is a joy watching you and your brothers and sister...and mom and dad. There is a lot of love that shines through this family. Thanks for sharing a part of your lives with us. ❤
Oh my goodness!! He wasn’t so sure about all that. Soon enough he’ll catch on to the change in consistency and delivery lol 😂 I too, was a nursing mother, for as long as they tolerated it. Both of mine self weaned by 9 months. He’s such a cutie 🥰
I had 4 and did the same thing started them off on our food blended down a lot. I developed their taste...all of my kids I can say ate their veggies and other stuff...they hated store bought. To this day i have to make my homemade meatballs and other stuff...lol it never stops, but hey my 10 grandchildren love Nannies cooking so I am happy 🥰
Great video. Thanks for sharing this family moment. I was cracking up over the faces he was making 😂😂😂. It’s good he liked the chicken broth, if he’s trying to get a cold or just teething the broth will be good for him. I remember when my daughter was little, I couldn’t afford a regular high chair so I had one that had arms that went over and under the table top. After a couple weeks she decided she didn’t want her baby food and wanted what we were eating. So she started getting all the soft foods we had every night for dinner. Have a blessed day 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️👩🏻🌾
Yup... Using apples off our trees (no chemicals and less sugar), I made applesauce for my great nephew. He started grabbing at the spoon because mama was not feeding him fast enough. (So cute). Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA 10/23/2023.
What a beautiful adorable, smart, healthy baby boy. He has grown so fast although he never did look like a new born infant he was so big and beautiful. You sure do make beautiful children. Enjoy, I'm sure you have been many times, they grow up sooo fast. You are blessed. Take care.
My Mom brought me home to Mamaws at 2 days old, one early winter morning. Mamaw told my Mom hand me to her and go lay down and rest. My uncle said Mamaw immediately dipped her finger in her grits and gravy mix and plopped it in my mouth. I ate every meal at the table, what they ate, from that day on. I have zero stomach problems and at nearly 60, can eat EVERYTHING!! Spicy, country, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, milk cheese....every vegetable under the sun I love!! But grits and gravy are still my favorite meal!! Hope all have an awesomely blessed week!🙏
I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW FAST HE'S GROWING IT SEEMS LIKE JUST YESTERDAY HE WAS BORN 😊 LOVE WATCHING YOUR FAMILY AND MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOUR FAMILY AND KEEP Y'ALL SAFE AMEN 🙏 🥰
I have a 10 month old granddaughter I am raising and she eats table food but we dont stress her over it because ehe drinks her formular. She is the same weight as your boy. Love the faces they make when they taste something new for the first time. We dont use commercial baby food, I wish the WIC program promoted more fruits and veggies from fresh sources then they do. Theyvalso do not recommend meat which I find concerning as all growing babies need protein. Thanks again for your content yall rock!
I remember making baby food for both boys…. Many people made fun of us, because we did it that way. We must have been very poor in their opinion. They just ate what we ate. I now have a healthy and happy 27 and 24 year old young men.
Darling baby! I used a lot of store foods, not realizing I could make myself. I also fed rice cereal. Guess we all live and learn new ways. Great video!
Love the info your are kindly sharing. So many people don't know about keeping it pure and simple for babes. My kids weren't into food until after 1. BF all of them until 2.5-3 yrs old. They always ate what we ate. He's a doll!
Just subscribed after watching some couple on some Homestead conference…your visit to one of my favourite guys place ‘ Polyface’ with Joel…guys a legend. Love your work and your leadership as a man is inspiring. Thanks Blessings bro
I watch my nieces baby once a week. He is on sensitive formula and has had silent reflux. She has never boiled his water and has been mixing his formula with spring water or Brita filtered tap water. I tried to explain to her that spring has too many minerals but she has ignored my advice. She has also been giving him cereal in his bottle at night since 2-3 months. It’s been hard to watch my nephew struggle with his digestion and be in discomfort, knowing there are things they could do to help him. He is now 5 months and finally things are starting to get better with him. I enjoy watching him but he doesn’t nap more than 20 minutes twice in the day. He does sleep through the night. Occasionally I will get an hour nap from him. But that’s not often. It has been fun to see his weekly progress. They grow so quickly 💖
I never really planned it in advance. When baby is big enough to grab at your plate or your spoon while you are eating, has some teeth and can sit up on their own they are ready! You can tell when they want it, they feel left out because everyone else is eating. Just mash up whatever y'all are eating and put it on their tray. It's so easy and makes for a kid who has a healthy appetite and good attitude about mealtime. As long as the whole family is eating healthy you can pick from what you are eating and not make extra work for yourself.
He is such an adorable strong baby. Glad he is crawling as many people misunderstand the absolute neccesity of babies crawling. I is an essential part of their 3- D, spatial development and coordination. I had a friend who boasted her kids never crawled , just walked and years later she had to take them to occupational therapy as their hand-eye and other coordination was bad and to her horror, the therapist let these boys crawl, making a fun game out of it for them! Sometimes it is not so much the taste of new food, but the texture and consistency as they have only had a liquid before, so also a reason he preferred the broth. I started mine on mashed banana, cooked apple, pumpkin all finely pureed. We lived in a hot climate and I gave them purified water with a dash of pure apple juice for thirsty days
Thanks for your insight Lacey. You always explain so thoughly. This backs up a bit... But your fire cider video was the most informative I have ever seen. Such good info as in what and why. Looking forward to more practical info like yours.
So i had to watch then go into video again could not comment want to say thank you Lacie learned more about babies i do not have kids but like to learn Hezikiah is just so adorable😊
My kids were voracious eaters. Milk alone wouldn't satisfy them after 2 months. They were eating every two hours. Sometimes less from the end of one feeding to the beginning of another. But they were skinny and long, not chunky at all. And most are still skinny in their 30's & 40's. And they still can eat you out of house & home. Just like my younger brother who would eat 27 slices of French toast long before he hit his teens. When he died at 50 years old he still only weighed 145 pounds at 6 feet 1 inch tall.
He is gorrrrrrgeous. My nana (my kids great grandmother) gave my babies their first meal. Pureed kumara/sweet potato and puha/milk thistle, watered down with the vege broth and a tad of butter. I did the same for my grandbabies. If we went out it was pureed apple or a banana. This might be my fave video of all time. Bubba's facials were so handsome and cute.

This was a nice thing for you to share.
I was waiting for a new video. Hezekiah is growing fast. So adorable. He looks exactly like Micah. God bless everyone of you.
GORGEOUS SWEET BOY, BEAUTIFUL MAMA, AND PROUD PAPA! ❤❤❤
He looks just like Micah. So cute.
It's adorable the way you show love equally to all your children regardless of age.
Thanks for letting us be able to see his first real food. Be blessed abundant.

Congratulations for not caring what others thought about feeding your babies real food. I know they are healthier because of it.
Love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and his first meal

What great parents! Well done!
LOL, the face he made every time! Then slamming his hand on the table! Like he really WAS reacting to hard liquor!
Oh that was just so adorable but Oh So Funny with his little facial expressions - I couldn't stop laughing. Cheers Denise- Australia
Adorable boy. Your little ones are beautiful.
Broth for the win! A more liquified texture is more pleasant to the mouth than something a bit thicker when you’re used to liquids.
