this video was really well done and i appreciate the storytelling. that said, i can’t help but wonder if the guy is being a bit overprotective with his daughter. while it’s natural to want to shield her from pain, should he really cut her off from forming relationships? seems like a slippery slope to me.

She blamed him for her cheating with the abuser Leon who was the affair partner for 3 years? He's asking if he & his daughter did the thing when she wanted the divorce? She also said that he didn't know that Leon abusive when during their 3 year affair? She means that none of ladies he dated told her he was abusive? Why isn't she suing Leon instead &/or pressing charges if she had been hit by the vase? Why didn't he call the police to get her to leave? He said that Kathy informed her about the affair through email & is surprised that the daughter wants nothing to do with her? He said that he agreed to meet with them to keep them The OP is lying except for the affair You can't deny someone visitation rights just because the biological parent of your child cheated on you; that can only happen if they have a criminal record &/ or show to be abusive, which she doesn't have. If they really took it to court, the judge would allow her visitation rights. Lawyers usually advise their clients not to talk with the person they're suing or the person that they're being sued by. He said that they wanted to settle at a cafe, but for that to happen both lawyers must be present in order for it to be official. I believe that the mother did want to see the daughter otherwise she wouldn't have bothered contacting her. I do believe that she cheated on him with Leon, but I don't believe he was abusive like he claimed & let's say that them visiting at the cafe was true. Why would she want him present if he was abusive & then be so casual? However, the daughter is underage, so even if she sides with him she still doesn't have any rights; in court they'll ask how the daughter of the relationship between the mother & daughter are. Edit I thought more about it & I do believe that the daughter is on his side because when he said that part it did make sense.
Daughter's smart, responsible, and well minded. OP's doing a great job being a single dad raising her right after what OP'S ex and ex-partner did.
