I've seen quite a number of explanations on how to do this. This is far and away the best such that I think I could end up with a result that actually sounds flamenco.
I've try and learned and played everything by myself till today, from jazz, western swing, classical, east Indian music, blues chet Atkins finger style...but I'll tell you one thing, the Flamenco guitar technique, tricks and fell is something I'll never be able to fully understand and played, why ? Because you NEED TO BE born there to understand the beat and and the technical difficulties to play with your right hand without a pick as we do here in North America. I'm 61 born with what I called a natural gift for music, but believe me, Flamenco guitar is for ME, the most beautiful music and the most hardest music to play in the entire world, olé and thank you sir for this little step forward !
Not sure what you meant by “other fingers”, perhaps the ones not used of the right hand? They do a golpe (ring and middle mainly but pinky can go with them) and the rest of the time just dangle as thumb does the work. I explain the basic move at 1:35. If you meant left hand fingers that is at 5:48. Anything else you need slower, you can actually slow the whole video down by clicking on the 3 dots top right, select the slower speed.
When you went fast your wrist was barely moving . When you did it slow you showed a lot of wrist . Your thump rolling off kind of looked like sweep picking down and lifting up to catch the string on the way up . I’m just staring at your wrist
I show the basic right hand action at 1:35. If you need to see it even slower, RUclips allows you to slow the video down (click three dots top right, select slower speeds).
How about a warning label that you're not going to actually teach this at a level that you can comprehend but I'm going to show off as a teacher by playing it super fast over and over. As a teacher myself that sucks man
Yes, this is really not very good teaching. The photography is poor (e.g. too many long shots and not on the FINGERS but the whole body). Also, the finger are quite fat and disguise what he's playing also. The classical teachers are much more aware.
Getting the right thumb nail shaped was for me the most crucial part of getting this technique right. No one ever talks about this
Precisely! I discovered later that mine was way too long. By shortening it, Alzapua finally became fluid.
Beautiful explaination. Thanks. I love this technique.
Wow what a skill

Only one word suitable to describe this set of instruction. "OUTFUCKINGSTANDING!" ✌😎✌
I need it explained slower...what are you doing with the other fingers......could you break daown the movement really slow?

What about the sixth string? xD

At 8:33 I address your observation directly. Good catch!
Going too fast. You need to slow it down to see the pattern.

You can slow it down yourself homeboy
This is not very good..........
