This chapter also put into perspective just how dangerous it is for Asa to lose her body to Yoru. Yoru wanted to fight chainsaw man but it is now when she follows her instinct for craving love and intimacy(probably through Asa's human emotions but without the conscience/ morality of Asa) that she becomes a truly dangerous entity to Asa and Denji.
@@Mroquelledenji was definitely SA'd (apart of the grooming theme) if you dont think so reread the chapter and notice how denji was disassociating after a small opposition Asa was forced into the situation by yoru which can be interperpreted as sa. We'll see if it's followed up though.
But like have they just forgotten that himeno almost had seggs with a minor? And now that someone with the same age as denji is doing it, everyone freaks out?
I think this is pretty much the worst thing that could've possibly happened for Denji, Asa and their relationship. Retrospectively, knowing Fujimoto's writing, it was bound to happen - Denji's ever-present horniness, a lost girl and a manipulative demon sharing one body... - even though it's astounding how radical he went with it. This is without a doubt the turning point of the story, this is what this whole part has been building towards up till now in the same way as Aki's death - this is the moment of brutal disillusionment when you realize things will never be the same anymore. There's this same cruelty and perversion in the writing: Fujimoto places all the elements for us to hope for the characters and their future, and then took it away in an instant. We know Asa has feelings for Denji, and the sexual attraction Yoru experienced definitely comes from Asa since they share the same brain, but Yoru's unrestrained and manipulative nature prematurely forced what should've happened naturally and thereby scarred (maybe destroyed?) their relationship forever... It's probably an unpopular opinion, but it elevated the story as a whole so much for me; it feels like the last piece of the puzzle has been put in place for us to finally understand the true point and direction of Part 2
I completely agree with you. I feel people that see this chapter as bad, are taking it at face value, lacking the whole context and the deepness of what just actually happened. It's not meant to be taken as a fetish or something good, it does have a purpose for the story and it wasn't out of the blue either. I also don't see why people are so divided by this chapter, it may be pretty explicit visually, but regular body fluids are nowhere near as gross, for example, the vomit scene, which was at the start of part 1, waaay before Chainsaw Man actually became pretty popular, so I don't see how this interaction was the turning point, when it's not as gross as other things we've seen. It's a great chapter because of what it implies for the story, and I don't really think people are seeing what it's supposed to mean, they are just seeing the freaky interaction at face value and calling the manga weird for that.
That actually describes pretty well how chaotic first sexual interactions between teenagers are, for some it may be uncomfortable or unexpected, but it really isn't that surprising, especially for Chainsaw Man
@@murderman8578 I'm sorry (?) but what I was referring to is in general they're very rushed and chaotic, enjoyable and everything, but not exactly romantic, in first person my first experiences were kinda fucked up
You really don't have to remind me of that... I was the same age as them drunk on the beach late night after a party with a not even attractive girl and kinda did that but with roles reversed...
The lack of media literacy I've seen surrounding this chapter has actually caused me to lose sleep. Yes Denji was SA'd Yes Asa was SA'd Yes it was messed up. Yes thats the point. Yes a running theme throughout the entirety of Chainsaw man is Denji being manipulated and abused by older women.
I was laughing while reading this manga not because of the story. I laughed because i imagine the faces of lin and everyone at mangaplus when fujimoto give the draft. I bet fujimoto gave a more graphic draft and this one is the is the tamest.

I just feel so much dread for Asa especially because She's the ne most in danger of being completely erased and isolated in conversations just like how both Denji & Yoru don't percieve Asa's consent. Denji cause he doesn't know that's not Asa. Yoru cause she doesn't care.
Idk, i think that when yoru kissed denji it's also because she shares the same emotions as asa, as a part of yoru want to kill csm and asa try to save denji, they have a lot of flaws but i think the last panel when we see that asa is back with yoru's eyes definitly means that they probably for the first time felt the same way and had the same goal as at the exterior they are just one
@@MamaJoe-bl7vv I'm a bit torn between her and Fami. But Fami does have some good intentions at least, and she does seem to genuinely care about Denji and Asa to a degree. Yoru is literally just hell-bent on getting her revenge.

Yoru is just a projection of asa with no inhibitions, which is why no one can see any difference between them and why they sorta melded together in this chapter
It's very telling how disgusted people are by this chapter, but Denji suffering all sorts of abuse and going to literal hell is fine and okay. I believe people are being hypocritical because they don't know how to deal with scenarios that we can all relate to, to a certain extent
SA hits a lot closer to home for a lot of people than most of Denji’s trauma. And people who haven’t experienced it aren’t necessarily talking about this chapter with much tact. That’s why people are “over”reacting.
To further add onto the idea that Yoru/War has experienced some loss of identity, there's also the fact according to Yoru, Pochita/black Chainsaw Man previously devoured a part of War/Yoru when they last fought. So one could also view Asa as sorta completing and filling in what Yoru/War had previously lost. The nature of Asa and Yoru's situation, instead of the typical approach to possession narratives that treat the parties involved as separate individuals, could arguably now be better conceived of as analogous to like dissociative identity disorder, with Asa and Yoru being like alters of the same person. Also if anyone has read the comic "Saga" by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples, that comic also proposed the idea that the opposite of war isn't peace, but rather its opposite is "fucking"/making love. What you brought up in today's video reminded me of that.
I love this chapter even though it’s a difficult read. Chainsaw Man isn’t a fairy tale and Denji and Asa most likely won’t get their fairy tale ending. The hardest part now is the aftermath and seeing how Fujimoto handles this. Sexual assault is a sensitive topic so I hope he doesn’t glaze over it and play it off for laughs.
honestly, it's so funny seeing all of the different reactions. like, i never read past volume 1 of Fire Punch and even i knew that this was some real Tatsuki Fujimoto shit. like, you can REALLY TELL who has read Fire Punch, Fujimoto vs who has read Look Back or Goodbye Eri, Fujimoto
Been waiting on your video on this. Yoru went for what Asa was too scared to do. She remembered the kiss she had with Denji cuz she felt affection for him. She doesn’t understand those feelings so it all kinda exploded the way it did. I do feel bad for Denji cuz he did envision finally getting to do that but not in the way he expected. He was basically SA’ed. Asa wasn’t in control so Yoru did it against her will. Also: *Evangelion reference* at the end.
Denji losing his virginity quite literally made it more popular than JJK, Burrito, MHA finale and epilogue, and One Piece. Denjis climax is more popular than the climax of JJK 💀💀💀💀
I just wanna point out that Yoru remembered what nayuta programmed her to forget. i think having a strong enough love for someone lets you resist control devil and maybe even fami's abilities. President Power was also able to resist control because of her strong love for denji, so maybe since Asa (and by extention Yoru cuz they feel the same emotions) loves denji so much it allowed them re-remember that date night.
Yoru as a name isn't intrinsic to the war Devil, Asa found it awkward to keep calling her 戦争の悪魔 (Sensō no Akuma - literally 'demon of war') so she told Asa to call her Yoru, so it really is just a pun on Asa's name. But deeper then that Yoru's identity as "yoru" is intrinsically tied to her connection to Asa.
I actually had a similar theory before this but this is really good Asa could just be a representation of a split personality, that asa actually has always been war demon all her life, she just came out upon the time she had to use her power to heal from death
I saw this in a comment, can’t remember who it was so sorry about that but it brought up something I completely forgot- Nayuta used her powers to erase the first time Denji and Yoru/Asa kissed, and she seemingly started to remember that, meaning Nayuta’s powers may be fading. Denji in his post-nut clarity might notice this and be locking in next chapter basically
YOU DELIVERED BROTHER, When I think about, the scene links up some between Eva and Csm. Both of the climaxes occurred at someone else's expense. In Eva it was Asuka and CSM it was Asa.
This is how DID works sometimes. Trauma is deeply related to a Disassociative System. And sometimes during an "encounter" one identity will switch out to manipulate the another identity. Identities are supposed to protect, but they are also individuals with desires and sometimes want to hurt each other ("themselves?") ... It's very complicated, and bound to trauma. The Integration portion is also a thing. less common, but sometimes... also being unsure of names, or feeling conflicted about a name. They are and are not, the person they say they are, each identify knows they are "Host-name" but also themselves. And even after integration it's not always clear. a Fractured mind, is always fractured, even if you glue the parts back together, and all the parts are "fronting" ... we all have this, we are just so used to it, we dont even realize. The voice telling you to keep pushing, while the voice in your head is saying no, I cant do it. Which voice is you? Maybe both? ... And when doctors sever the left-right hemispheres of the brain, the two brains decide differently... and maybe always did. Our brains are so much more complicated than we think, weve just evolved to just accept it all without realizing it. Children who experience Trauma are forced to realize it before their brains stop being un-settled on that idea. And so they can separate "me" from "other me"
When you mentioned every horsemen wanting something the first I thought of for yoru id love. war is a very brutal affair with loved ones being lost on both sides. So just like control who wants a family not brought to her by force and famine has a essentially never ending hunger, war craves intimacy and love and thats why she got so passionate with denji and makes weapon on how much the object means to the host
Yoru's name was picked in opposition to Asa's. Until the contrary is shown, to me it's a name she picked on a whim simply because Asa's name means "morning". There's also no proof that War has done this before and there's no precedent of other devils taking over humans like she does. Violence is the closest we get and we see that his hosts memories had an effect on the resulting being's personality. Basically, Asa and Yoru merging together is the unforeseen consequence of taking over Asa but basically keeping her alive as a sort of partial fiend and might be the reason why other devils don't take over humans like this.
I think the idea of the “singular being” is really interesting and there’s a really good case for it. If we look back to Ada’s dream with all the chicken corpses, that might be the future she sees for herself once entangled with Yoru, the chicken being a callback to Bucky, the first life she ever took. This is even further compounded in chapter 112 when Asa says she’ll “turn someone into a weapon” as she steps on a chicken, with Yoru smiling. This is the first instance of ASA becoming like Yoru, with many more likely to come.
Ever since the "So, this is love" scene (or however it was, whenever Yoru figured out Asa was catching feelings for Denji and Yoru was affected by it, it felt clear to me that Asa and Yoru were sort of merging. You could possibly make the case that Asa becoming more assertive could also be related to that. When it comes to the name, I think War picked Yoru just to spite Asa. Since you're Asa (Morning), I'll be Yoru (Night). I'm everything you're not, your polar opposite. It's like a Jekyll and Hyde thing, or a Bruce Banner and Hulk thing. Maybe once they merge they'll start calling themselved Shogo (noon), but that doesn't sound like a woman's name, so I wouldn't bet on it lol
So people are trying to claim that Asa was a victim of what Yoru did too but also claiming that Asa and Yoru are becoming one. So if they are becoming one, then what they did to Denji was something that both Yoru and Asa both decided to do, in which case Asa wouldn't be a victim as well. Or am I understanding this wrong?
Yoru and Asa still have independent thought and individuality during and after the situation so it's pretty clear that Asa did not decide to do it too.
The kid was taken advantage of yet again. My boy's story is so so damn tragic! It wasn't a good experience for him what so ever. Sure first time experiences can be kind of awkward in the beginning when it comes to sex, but the reaction that Denji gave after was what made me feel for my boy. Who knows how he will be after this. He just looked so damn dejected on that train ride.😢
Could it be that when Yoru got the flashback because nayuta's curse to forget the kiss ran out? I would think if it hasn't run out up intil now, there has to be a reason for it dissapearing, maybe she's been killed at that moment or too weak to keep the infliction up?
@Sufferents I'm not familiar with current CSM, but another author of the series Saga, Brian K. Vaughan touched on this idea awhile back. He depicted an author in his own story with experience in war and how he coped with life by writing using a coded method after discovering his own antithesis of war, which wasn't peace or love...but sex. He wrote steamy love stories, most just called erotic trash, but had an undertone of dealing with war and completely dismantling it. It was a pretty interesting concept when thinking about it the first time. Taking life in the name of an passion Creating life in the name of an passion It always takes more than 1 person(we're talking sex not sexual gratificaiton) You typically question stopping halfway through either of them The ideas just go on and on. Just a cool sidepiece I thought I'd throw out if you're interested
I like the idea of there 4 horsemen’s goals being the opposite of what they represent for control she wants a relationship for famine she is gluttonous and for war in my personal opinion she wants love as love is kind of the opposite of war and the usually go together in the saying love and war
But Love is war🤓 More seriously, a better opposite to love would be indifference rather than war imo. And for war, Peace.😊 Though, as many as interpretations they might be, your theory of them seeking the opposite of what they stand for is quite solid.
My problem with this chapter isn’t Fujimoto(although I have several other problems with that man), it’s with the CSM community. Because there is a sizable amount of men in this fanbase that can’t handle depictions of Male SA victims properly. I’ve seen way too many people say that this chapter was a win for Denji when this is the third time in the series where he has been SA’d. And it kinda makes it hard to be in this community when you know there’s people who’re so disgusting about how the series treats Denji.
I totally agree with you on all that but I do think that Denji wanted it when Yoru started kissing him. Not that that just makes jt okay tho for her to do that to him with no consent ☠️
This situation isn’t black and white and is more complicated. Of course people differ in opinion. Like Denji going back in for a kiss, may cause some reader to feel conflicted
this is reminding me of berserk when there are still idiots on the community saying "griffith did nothing wrong" or "casca enjoyed it" and im like oh yeah history is repeating itself once again.
videos like these are why you will always be my favorite creator to cover CSM. keep up the good work! honestly i half expected her to cut it off and turn it into a weapon
Denji will feel good after this and will want more/take it to the next level. People crying about Denji and how would feel do not really get his character at all, not even yourself. Fumiko herself did something similar, go check out how traumatized denji was
What a cumtastic chapter, and it certainly broke something lol Fujimoto pushing even further beyond what's possible in SJ and unironically was a great chapter
I will continue reading but I’ve been in full belief since the start of part 2 that the story had fell off and fujimoto had already made a 8 - 9/10 manga with pt 1, pt 2 hasn’t shown me its purpose to exist yet, the ending to part 1 was perfect imo and I would’ve been find with the open endedness of the new control devil Nayuta. I hope the death devil will be cool and reignite my interest for the story.
@@StrayTato 3 acts would indicate different parts of a whole, I felt and I think most fans agree that part 1 was a fully realized story by itself, if there is really a part 3 after this then I definitely think Fujimoto is milking the story. In regards to how part 2 has been I like Asa and Denji’s dynamic and his relationship with Nayuta but the chainsaw man church arc was genuinely all over the place and I didn’t like it more than a single arc from part 1, the other new characters aren’t charming at all, Hoshida is decent everyone else I really don’t care at all about, well Katana Man is kinda funny but I have no idea what the direction is with his character lol.
@Bkr0507 Naw I don't think so. I think act 3 might be about an adult Denji. Maybe the whole core of the story is about following Denji in different phases of his life. I'm enjoying the ride.
@@1922_kinda_girlpart 3 could just be a new story with Denji I could imagine it like season 2 of Vinland saga cus realistically I see part 2 ending horribly like everyone dying and then it’s a complete tone shift in the story considering pt2 has been way more lighthearted
This is the chapter that brought me back in.its so in line with fujimotos style of writing. You will always have fans that act this way when you become so mainstream (especially when most are westerners)but i truly do hope that this doesnt force fujimoto to change his ways of storytelling.
If you look really closely during the chapter you can see (or at least it looks like) Yoru eyes change back n forth from normal eyes to her devil eyes, as if Yoru and Asa are switching back n forth during the kiss. I may be wrong because the drawings for the eyes are somewhat similar but definitely different at some parts of the chapter.
Lol I still don't understand how you could get offended by that chapter unless you are a literal child or have been diddled or something. Very sad if it's the latter, because there are so many.
Shoutout to my boy Fuji giving exactly what denji wanted, and making a chapter that happens exactly what the characters said it would happen in the previous chapter, and still being shcoking and able tu surprise everyone with it, and still make denji suffer along, just peak csm writing
I honestly think this was a clever way to show the complexity and extreme of the character war. Sure it is very jarring chapter, but so is the embodiment and idea of war. Another thing I thought about was that it makes perfect sense to me was that war would elevate the conflicts of internal feelings that Denji and Asa are feeling as war itself is the most extreme version of conflict. When applying war to love it would escalate with its extreme which is passion.
The moment Denji said he wanted sex, we all should've expected it to end in the worst way imaginable.
Knowing Fujimoto, this most definitely could've ended way worse than it already did.

I just find that chapter hot
@@ChvyceIs this Denji's alt account?
@@Khn_2102 excellent question 🤔 🤣🤣🤣

I just feel so much dread for Asa especially because She's the ne most in danger of being completely erased and isolated in conversations just like how both Denji & Yoru don't percieve Asa's consent. Denji cause he doesn't know that's not Asa. Yoru cause she doesn't care.
Yoru is low-key the most terrifying villain in csm. Also, Yoru is the only one at fault in this situation.

Sufferants I just love how you make things sounds more chilled out than they actually are
I love this chapter even though it’s a difficult read. Chainsaw Man isn’t a fairy tale and Denji and Asa most likely won’t get their fairy tale ending. Yoru as a name isn't intrinsic to the war Devil, Asa found it awkward to keep calling her 戦争の悪魔 (Sensō no Akuma - literally 'demon of war') so she told Asa to call her Yoru, so it really is just a pun on Asa's name. But deeper then that Yoru's identity as "yoru" is intrinsically tied to her connection to Asa.
it was so uncomfortable and i did not like it, i believe that was the purpose, so it was a good chapter since it achieved what it intended to.

Oh ok there
This is how DID works sometimes. And so they can separate "me" from "other me"
Holy Cow, I almost forgot that the kiss was supposedly erased from their memory
When you mentioned every horsemen wanting something the first I thought of for yoru id love. war is a very brutal affair with loved ones being lost on both sides. So just like control who wants a family not brought to her by force and famine has a essentially never ending hunger, war craves intimacy and love and thats why she got so passionate with denji and makes weapon on how much the object means to the host
LITERALLY MODERN SHINJI IN HOSPITAL ROOM SCENE
a new core memory for our little denis
Yoru's name was picked in opposition to Asa's. Until the contrary is shown, to me it's a name she picked on a whim simply because Asa's name means "morning". There's also no proof that War has done this before and there's no precedent of other devils taking over humans like she does. Violence is the closest we get and we see that his hosts memories had an effect on the resulting being's personality. Basically, Asa and Yoru merging together is the unforeseen consequence of taking over Asa but basically keeping her alive as a sort of partial fiend and might be the reason why other devils don't take over humans like this.
This just hits deep with the new chapter and after another channel analyzing Denji as a character
To quote Gambit from X-Men 97: “Gambit can never unsee that.”
Or to quote Marcelle from Delicious in Dungeon: “Woah Hey!”
Didnt have the semen demon or devil on my bingo card
8:25 that transition is so foul XD
And it broke us good!
Make love not war!
To me it seems like the “becoming one” thing is just speculation atm since we dont have enough info.
I think the next 2 chapters might clear things up
Yoru and Asa still have independent thought and individuality during and after the situation so it's pretty clear that Asa did not decide to do it too.
you put much more thought into it than I did. the way you put it makes it much more deep than I originally thought

Taking life in the name of an passion
Creating life in the name of an passion

Just a cool sidepiece I thought I'd throw out if you're interested
I like the idea of there 4 horsemen’s goals being the opposite of what they represent for control she wants a relationship for famine she is gluttonous and for war in my personal opinion she wants love as love is kind of the opposite of war and the usually go together in the saying love and war
But Love is war🤓
More seriously, a better opposite to love would be indifference rather than war imo.
And for war, Peace.😊
Though, as many as interpretations they might be, your theory of them seeking the opposite of what they stand for is quite solid.
8:21 it’s so much harder to take your video seriously when you’re playing this in the background😂
I think the issue is that SA implies more than what actually happened.
That's the anime/manga community as a whole alot of people have porn brain even the writers

Fujimoto envisioned Chainsaw Man in 3 acts. So I would say Pt 2 definitely has a direction.
@@StrayTato 3 acts would indicate different parts of a whole, I felt and I think most fans agree that part 1 was a fully realized story by itself, if there is really a part 3 after this then I definitely think Fujimoto is milking the story. This is the chapter that brought me back in.its so in line with fujimotos style of writing. You will always have fans that act this way when you become so mainstream (especially when most are westerners)but i truly do hope that this doesnt force fujimoto to change his ways of storytelling.
When people get back from war there is always a huge spike in babies.
Denji gets traumatized and gets a Baki power up at the same time.
It was Yoru during all the kissing, then changed to Asa while/after denji cums (lol)
