I bought a 2022 Himi last year specifically because I enjoy going to the mountains and doing some some high trails. Love the bike and being able to do trails; plus she does about 100mpg !! She's great on twisty tarmac and super on hard-bed trails - basically I love her and am totally satisfied. By the way she's done nearly 3,000 kms and is really opening out.
After watching all your videos I have to tell you that I have a lot in common with you because: - I like slow riding a motorcycle - I'm flying a drone - I love nature -I'm retired. and I will definitely buy a Himalayan 🙂
You might notice a change in quality to my previous videos. I've been editing on my old MacBook Pro but it was struggling. I've switched to my Linux box which is more capable but I'm learning new editing software. I think I missed a couple of settings in the render stage. I'll get better over the next couple of videos 😁 I really appreciate you spending the time to watch and comment, thank you! rendered the video again because the quality was bothering me and it's uploaded as an 'unlisted' video. Absolutely love this. Just did some violent riding on my Himalayan last weekend and now I have a couple of noises that I don't like. I'll use your brake info. Thank you.
Thanks Andrew! If it doesn't stop the squeak, get it checked out. This is just a quick fix for where water has washed away any lubricant. If parts are worn then you'll need to do something else. Hope it works easy for you. Cheers mate!
My bike's done 13,500 miles now, and seems to run better with every mile. It took quite a while before the engine properly loosened up, but worth the wait.
I agree Geoff! I seriously nearly turned back to the dealer on my way home, it sounded like a washing machine full of nuts and bolts 😂 much smoother and feels like more power too now. Cheers mate!
@@motonumnum I did exactly that. After about 1,500 mile, I took it back to the dealer as I thought there was something wrong with it - sounded like a bag of rusty nails - he told me that they all sounded like that, and I thought I was being fobbed off. However, he was right - it runs like a top now.
I love your videos. I would love them more if you didn't have music playing at all. I play these at work. It helps me be productive while in a windowless room. Maybe you could do some hour long episodes!
Thanks so much Craig, that's great feedback! I've been tossing up whether to have music or not and also the best video length. I usually shoot 2+ hours of footage and cut 80% of it. I'll see what I can do. Cheers mate!
Thanks for bringing me along on this ride. This is very much the way I ride. I'm not riding now as I'm recovering from Covid. I like the way you captured the sound of the bike. I also like the text overlay. The bike, maybe some background music, that's all I want to hear. I have a Himalayan too. It looks like you have some image compression problems. Please up the data rate.
Thanks Gerald! Yes, that was my first video produced with Kdenlive, I've learned a few settings since then. I'm hoping the more recent videos are better quality?
40-60km/h on those dirt roads is fast enough. Two wheels aren't as stable as four and you're wrapped around the steel, not the steel around you. As I used to say in the MPs when riding the Suzuki GS400s... "I get paid every second Thursday... just gotta get to the pay parade in one piece." Your lane positioning is good, too. Good to see you command the lane by riding to the side of the lane centre (where cars drop oil, hence the black bit) and you don't give cars in the other lane the idea of pushing you aside. Studies have shown when you 'command' the lane the car drivers tend not to stray into your space but if you hug the inside or kerbside (or outside of the right lane) they lose respect for your space. Except in S.E.Asia where none of this counts, hahaha. Nice simple fix, too.
Recently, in Key West, I bought e-bikes for the wife and I. Everything is legal on the road in Key West, bikes, scooters, golf carts, you name it. I would look in my mirror and see my wife against the curb with cars whizzing around her. I would have to stop and wait for her to catch up. It was annoying AF always waiting for her. I told her to own the road but keep your head on a swivel. She never learns, just keeps scootching to the side until traffic is all over her. I told her she is more likely to get hit by trying to jump in and out of traffic. Just get out there and go.
I hadn't seen either of those guys so thanks. I don't mind listening to the guys that want to talk and have something interesting to say - there's certainly enough of them so I don't feel the need to add anything 😁
You ride like me. Not in a hurry to go anywhere in particular, just enjoying the ride.
The Raw Sound of RE Himalayan is exquisite. You did a good job here Moto Num Num.
Thank you so much for the feedback Sachin 😊 I’m really trying to get good sound. Glad you enjoyed it. More videos coming soon, cheers!
@@motonumnum Looking forward to more of these beautiful videos 😊

Yeah, I found the same thing - really improves over the first few thousand kilometres and does all I need it to do - enjoy David

Looks like a fun ride. I tried your fix for the rear brake squeal and it worked, thank you!
That’s great, glad it worked. I’m posting another ride in the next day or two 👍

Enjoyed this video. I was wondering why you hold the clutch it so long when you shift? Keep up the good work.
Hmmm… I didn’t realise I was doing it, slipping the clutch for speed management maybe? 🤔
@@motonumnum nope. Not that. But, it’s ok.

Thanks Perry! I think the commanding the lane comes from my old bicycling days and needing to be seen clearly. Cheers!

Hi Jamie, approaching 3,000 km now. Cheers!
Hi bro, which country are you living..
G’day mate, I’m in Australia, riding around the mid north coast of New South Wales 👍
I follow "Some Guy Rides" from the States, riding his Himi around the States, but unlike you, he never shuts up.. I like listening to Ed Pratt.
