    [VERSE]
The stage is set my friends for the play that never ends
This comedy we call the Church Bizarre
Once you enter you are bound to find salvation by the pound
Assured the more you pay the nearer God you are
    [VERSE]
Your mouth so paralyzed with fear you dare not speak
Your eyes so blind and hypnotized you cannot weep
So blinkered to reality that you no longer care
That profit is the prophet of corruption and despair
    [CHORUS]
Bring on the dancers - bring on the clowns
Who invite you to ride on their merry-go-rounds
They make the money and they make the rules
You 'Born-Again Christians' are born-again fools
    [THE EVANGALIST PRAYER]
God of Wealth and God of Might
    Guide me to your paradise
For many lives were bought and sold
That I may walk your streets of gold
Though my heart is cold and still
I rest in peace my pockets filled
And bear the smile of one who knows
Through God's Love my cup overflows
    [VERSE]
    A salvation salesman's dream
    Gullible to the extreme
Easy pickings for the charm and 'savoir faire'
    [VERSE]
Of these charlatans and thieves whose
Delight is to deceive - all the fools who
    Still believe they really care
    [VERSE]
And if all the Devil's minions were let loose to do their will
I think they'd be hard pressed to match in diabolic skill
The wickedness and treachery of this evangelic horde
Who shelter their corruption 'neath the banner of their Lord
    [CHORUS]
Bring on the dancers - bring on the clowns
Who invite you to ride on their merry-go-rounds
They make the money and they make the rules
You 'Born-Again-Christians' are born again fools
    [THE EVANGALIST PRAYER]
God of Wealth and God of Might
    Guide me to your paradise
For many lives were bought and sold
That I may walk your streets of gold
Though my heart is cold and still
I rest in peace my pockets filled
And bear the smile of one who knows
Through God's Love my cup overflows
    [VERSE]
The curtain never falls on the show that has it all
Taken in you can't begin to see their lies
For the people who are clapping are the ones
Who will be laughing at your fate
They just can't wait to bleed you dry
    [CHORUS]
Bring on the dancers - bring on the clowns
Who invite you to ride on their merry-go-rounds
They make the money and they make the rules
You 'Born-Again-Christians' are born again fools

Can this count as Alastor fan song?

    • @Andrealphus
      @Andrealphus  2 месяца назад +4

I would certainly think it so! I think it's pretty on-point for Alastor to see religion as just another "show".

@@Andrealphus Before going to an actual, rather Abrahamic depiction of Hell? Sure.
After witnessing the whole shebang and seeing that Christianity somehow nailed it? It'd be like flat-earther taking to space and still considering round world theory a "show", 'cose world is mostly ellipsical, so even the "other side" clearly wasn't right.
Heck, he even recognizes that sins are a thing and that they got them to hell, just as was told and welp, religion was right. Silly how that works.
Would he be any more religious personally? Doubtful. But he would recognize facts as facts.

@@AndrealphusMy head canon is that he was an atheist until his mother died at which point he became desperate and explored the occult and invented a spirit phone out of a radio to learn about the afterlife

They’re not really anti-religious they’re talking about mega religions that make people pay money for salvation where everything is donate donate donate or you will never get to heaven that’s what the song about. It’s about the greed of man corrupting religion.

Technically, this is not anti-religion. It's anti a very specific form of Christianity known for suckering people out of their money. Go look for a film called Marjoe (1972) that takes a look at what we're talking about here. It a confession from one of the hucksters themselves.
