I have focused on your fundamental exercises, doing them over and over every day for the past few months to get my drawing muscles built up and I must say that this video is like the cherry on top that makes it once again feel like you are personally in my corner, making the exact video I needed right as I am finally starting on my own comic book. Thank you, as always, for being such a valued resource for someone like me. 🙏
I've been hoping you would do some more comic videos! Been hanging and talking with CG and other indie creators. There is so much art in comics and manga! I need to check out Creed and pick up that bundle
Thanks for normalizing the first appearance of a thumbnail. I thought I was just garbage at drawing so now I’ll tell my inner critic to stuff it. The Dark Knight Returns is full of tiny panels that I love with pages up to 16 panels. I also love Mignolas heads because the contrast to action works.
Great advice sir! I'll always remember the wide horizontal panels or cinematic-style panels from Bryan Hitch. It always makes my eye linger on the panel more and check the details. That's why I layout my pages that way hehe
Изворни текст When I was a kid, in 1990, I wanted to draw a Ninja comicbook. I was always drawing ok, but comicbook was new. Shots from different angles, story.. After a few pages, I became disappointed and tore up the works. After a few years I found those works and was totally surprised. I didn't remember the drawings and they looked to me like someone else drew them and maybe they were good in their naivity..that's how my career as a comic artist ended. Thank you for your great videos!
I think if people really want to understand flow and speed, they should study Akira Toriyamas manga DBZ, he really has an amazing flow with the action of the panels.

Hey I’m looking to get a few of your Gumroad classes. Which ones do you go over the painting process?
Beginners should start with the Easy Art Lessons. If you already know your fundamentals, start with my Hearthstone Workshop. www.gumroad.com/trentk
The "Z" pattern is also a fundamental in Graphic layout design
