I think people in the Middle East knows what a sunbeam is-and isn't. This is obviously not an ordinary sunbeam. Furthermore it appeared before the Holy Lights, not after.

Clearly just a sunbeam, although the timing of it at just that moment and from just the right angle might be seen as a minor miracle through the eyes of faith. Once, while driving to church in the middle of the night -- around 1am on Holy Saturday -- to take my turn reading the Psalter before the plaschanitsa, a cross appeared in the sky around the full Paschal moon. Clearly just an atmospheric effect -- but again, with they eyes of faith you see signs where they appear for you.

Doesn't it seem a little odd that the Holy Spirit shows up every year to light a fire and yet the place is absent of sick, dying, or handicapped people waiting to be healed? How could healthy people even get close to this Church much less inside?
What I see on this is that the church was built at the place where JESUS CHRIST was buried and rose again the 3rd day. It has nothing to do with the beliefs of the church . Yes God is a consuming fire and the holy fire was coming out from where he was buried and rose again . Onosha Ugory The sunlight should spread everywhere, even through the near windows, but it doesn't. It comes only from one. If such a strong light is from the sun, it should come through on or two of the other windows.
didsankaaa Looks like you do not know optics well. According to what you say, the sun should shine from all directions equally which is impossible. From other windows the sunlight comes at different angles and the effect is different. And here there is smoke from the incense and candles which works as a lens of sorts - all that adds to create visible beam of light. It is wonderful and beautiful but as miraculous as any beauty of Nature - not more, nor less))) Christ is risen!

didsankaaa Looks like you do not know optics well. According to what you say, the sun should shine from all directions equally which is impossible. From other windows the sunlight comes at different angles and the effect is different. And here there is smoke from the incense and candles which works as a lens of sorts - all that adds to create visible beam of light. It is wonderful and beautiful but as miraculous as any beauty of Nature - not more, nor less))) Christ is risen!
